Hi Folks! notworthy.gif

Feeling weird that there is no Toyota vios owner's thread here, and soon I getting one, i decided to start a new thread for all vios owners and those potential buyers seeking information on the toyota vios, both previous gen and the current gen! This also acts as a info sharing hub for all vios owners.

This is also an continuation of the vios thread discussion from this page http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/517591

This is open to both 1st gen (2003-2007) and 2nd gen (2007-current) owners

Useful Information
QUOTE
Engine Model: 1NZ-FE
Description: The 1NZ-FE is a 1.5 L (1497 cm³) conventional Otto cycle variant of the 1NZ-FXE. It has the same bore and stroke, but the compression ratio is lowered to 10.5:1, and it features VVT-i. Output is 80 kW (110 hp) at 6000 rpm with 140 Nm (103 ft·lbf) of torque at 4200 rpm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Toyota VVT-i Technology
VVT-i, or Variable Valve Timing with intelligence, is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Toyota, similar in performance to the BMW's VANOS. The Toyota VVT-i system replaces the Toyota VVT offered starting in 1991 on the 5-valve per cylinder 4A-GE engine. The VVT system is a 2-stage hydraulically controlled cam phasing system.

VVT-i, introduced in 1996, varies the timing of the intake valves by adjusting the relationship between the camshaft drive (belt, scissor-gear or chain) and intake camshaft. Engine oil pressure is applied to an actuator to adjust the camshaft position. Adjustments in the overlap time between the exhaust valve closing and intake valve opening result in improved engine efficiency.[1] Variants of the system, including VVTL-i, Dual VVT-i, VVT-iE, and Valvematic, have followed.

Nice group you got there. How about another sub category for "Fuel Consumptions" and "Common Problems/Issues"?

p/s: Maybe later also have "Spare Parts Cost", and "Service Cost"...

Actually i was quite shocked with the small compartment for insulation on the engine bay. But i okay with it as i always counter loud engine noise with louder music from the stereo tongue.gif

Today i settled my booking for the Vios TRD Sportivo, hopefully can get it by next week. Fast leh brows.gif

Unlikely, unless if its a facelift. This current gen of vios released on 2007 so by now it should be a facelift. The facelift has already been released on Japan.
