Is that Streamyx can disable some headers & ports? I'm now can't get access into my regulary websites even try use proxy still the same but when I change to VPN these site is working.
Why? I'm wondering is that Streamyx could possible disable some headers http port and https port?

also

Some rtmp, rtsp, mms servers also cannot connected within yesterday till today.
Some sites use that secured ports sites early before all work fine without problems but cannot visited by now.

I'm pretty sure there's some meddling going on right now. I can't VPN back to my office in KL despite bouncing through other servers around the world.

reporting from selangor, heavy disruptances, headers loading but webpage content takes forever to load and doesnt load perfectly

MSN = frequent disconnections and only 2 ip ranges can connect, 118.101 and 60.49

Internationals sites loading faster than local sites in some cases, but still slower than usual.

Friends from USA cant access streamyx main webpage from over there...

Hooray for streamyx!

Telekom not the older Telekom again!
They have expert team on backup don't know who the guy teach them how to break off peoples' VPN and Proxy connection with then your headers and ports, they might still visible to see it.
Nowadays use header changer, VPN & Proxy is useless. Because you have no place can hide

Maybe due to the earthquake that hit Samoa around 12 am this morning. Tsunami makings its way around Pacific ocean. Might've interrupted the undersea cables again. Just my speculations.

When you call 100 sure they told you currently upgrading services we will try the best to restore as soon as possible and we do not know when and what are they technicians doing out there.
This is the sentence they simply wrote in paper already when peoples ask just take up the paper and read infront the phone. Hahaha

Do you know what did they say?

TM is upgrading something here in Penang etc...

Then they opened report for me and saying technician was checking the DSLAM without problem but will check port tomorrow..

Then I asked her back, if tmnet's upgrading, why should you go to check the DSLAM and port?

Later, I demanded to speak to 2nd level. The supervisor asked me to download a program and to test apa2.... not managed to hear what he said, he pretended can't hear from me and hang up.

Reported yesterday.

Hoped that they would revert whatever changes they did the day before but TMnet is still in denial mode.

Skype still works fine though, so I was wondering what other popular apps they're selectively allowing. WoW working?

Yes, and they probably also claim that no one else reported any problems right? They're pretty famous for doing that.

This so frustrating. Googletalk and gmail chat don't work.

totally same here - except not only i have to deal with the line at my house, but my office as well

N times restarting modem, flushing dns, switching ip - thats the advice i get from all 3 calls i made to the tech support

4th time i insist the fella to check their site instead - and yes, the word 'all is working fine' kinda pissed me right on the spot

call me a jerk - but if i told you in the beginning that i am having problems, it means i AM having problems.
and if i told you that i did reset/restart modem/computer - last thing i need is another person asking me to do the same crap that is clearly not working

Hey guys. Just logged on to say that if you wanna lodge a proper complaint against TMNet make sure you call them up first and get a report number for your issue. Doesn't matter if they give you the usual runaround (e.g. "is your wifi working?, "can you check the speedometer", etc.)

They gave me that stuff earlier and a local technician later contacted me. We talked about it and he confirmed that it was definitely not a local issue but something to do with the settings in KL, whom he acknowledged simply passed the buck onto him even though there's nothing to be done with that.

Anyway, once you have the report number go over to http://complaint.cfm.org.my/ and sign up for an account.

Log in and place a report for Poor Service and explain what you understand of the issue we're currently facing -- "Websites not loading up, have to constantly refresh to get anything to work, loss of productivity", etc and provide the date since you started experiencing the problem (Should be around 29 September or 30 September) with as much detail as you can spare. Write down in the form about what you think of the issue (that it's related to throttling, IP headers, or whatever) and mention that sending a technician down to fix your line locally won't do anything because it is an issue on the ISP side and has nothing to do with the phone line. Be sure to enter the report number in this form.

In my own letter I added at the end that I want TMNet to admit that they have a problem that's currently going on that many users are suffering from and that they need to acknowledge and fix it and revert the settings back to the way they were before, or at least fix it so that the websites don't have any more loading issues.

I submitted my application a few hours ago and the status only just changed to "Pending (Provider Acknowledged)" so TMNet definitely knows about the issue. If enough of us do it they will have no choice but to act on it.

FYI, I am in Ipoh and I have been having this problem for about a couple of days now.

I'm noticing the same issue. It's not just IE/FF, though. It's pretty random, actually. I think it has something to do with whether the site's HTTP request is read properly when it is first sent. Like, I have two computers -- a laptop and a PC and some pages will load on one computer but not on the other. The same happens with the 3 browsers (Chrome, FF, IE). Some pages load, others don't. It all comes down to luck and timing on whether the original HTTP request gets properly sent. I'm not 100% sure on the issue but something is definitely messed up at the ISP. It has nothing to do with your browsers.

Yeah. This is pretty easy to confirm if you have more than one computer or if you're at a cybercafe. You can have all the computers load up the same site and some of them will load, while others won't, and it takes a LOT of refreshing just to get it to clear the http header. Freaking annoying, to be sure.

Be sure to lodge a complaint because otherwise this is going to be a problem for a long time.

I doubt it. The problem started happening 2 days ago, and the international link/submarine cables don't go under Indonesia anyway. My buddies in Singapore don't seem to be having any problems and they share the same cables as us.

Also, it's not just international websites that are having problems -- sometimes even Streamyx's website won't load up. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with their settings.

Here's something interesting. Looks like they've got their filtering set to catch your outgoing packet, see if it's valid, allow a small amount through, then completely kill the connection. Here's an example with attached screenshot. Need help from the rest of you handy with networks to pin it down.

Opera 9.64 Header (No problems - loads well):
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Firefox 1.5.0.12 Header (Fails - only a few bits get through. Notice the odd ICMP):
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Firefox can't load pages properly, opera and chrome can. As we speak, they may change their 'top secret' test make opera and chrome not load properly the next day, and Firefox can.

Me too. Seems to be many Penangites complaining. Others not affected? My connection is really bad tonight ... the worst it has been since three days ago.

It has been really bad for the past two days (since Tuesday night).

Definitely not broken undersea cables as only some kinds of traffic are affected. For example, torrents have been downloading fine all long. Never had the slightest problem with them throughout this outage...

Edit: Uh, yes. Looks like things have just returned to normal.

Should I go withdraw the CFM complaint?

SKMM nafi salahguna kuasa kawal media baru
Okt 1, 09 4:06pm

Nice find! I find it strange this piece of news didn't find its way onto the internet (didn't spot it on the English language media as well). Hope some politico will raise hell with it.
