My KCS-75 just spoiled (one side of the phone has loosy connection)

Do you think it's worthwhilte to get another? I really love the sound characteristic of it, tho it's much expensive now than the first batch of bulk in LYN I joined then.

Update, I noticed that the Sony Ericsson IEMs are kind of lackluster compared to last time, anyone with a testimonial on this? Weakness still seems to be in the mid higher bands like piano sounds and some parts of vocals.

I prefer very, very neutral sounding earphones, even if the IEM already emphasizes bass, I will adjust the EQ accordingly but the effects are always better then the earphones themselves are amazing.

Any IEMs that are capable to produce signatures similar to Grados?

Yea but at the cost of mid high range clarity and soundstage. At least in the IEMs I've tested I've never really gotten satisfied.

My priorities not on my ears mar. Just that I recently got a good new phone so I need an equally good pair of cans to go with it. The Stock IEMs are kind of annoying.

Queued up for a pair of KSC75s. Hope I can move on to bigger and better things in the future.

Greetings pros and sifus... Dreamworks here requires some advice on IEMs Nothing too expensive, something around RM300 or less.

I'll be pairing it with a DAP for on-the-go music listening. I used to own a Fuze and nano but sold them away some time ago, might be going for a Zune HD or iPod touch 2G/3G.

Source mostly consisting of CBR@320kbps/VBR@v0 MP3s ranging from all types of genres except jazz, classical, and metal... Dunno why I can't stand those Sound quality takes priority, although a good looking pair wouldn't harm right haha...

I've shortlisted a few models though.

BUDGET= not more than RM200

reason why=

- for portability
- comfort (IMO in-ear earphones are uncomfortable in the long run, and greater risk for eardrum damage with high volumes due to pressurization effect)
- and lastly sound quality (im guessin there arent many high-end open-air earphones as compared to in-ear earphones, so i will not get the best of sound quality there, but thats what my full-sized heaphones are for... just lookin for one with decent sound quality, as i cannot stand listening to crappy bass)

60% is actually a lot ady xD you're talking about ur CK100 or the baby Monster? For me I always fixed the volume around 20-30%(around the "skip backward" icon, nvr go beyond the "play" icon on my iPhone . Anyway, it depends on the volume that you set it at, you can get hearing prob wearing headphone that is worse than wearing IEM if you listen to it at high volume as well, the noise isolation in IEM blocks out environment noise so you tend to listen to music at lower volume than earbuds.

- need to be use at laptop, ipod touch and the sony walkman series
- using it for drumming. need to have a good noise isolation.
- listens mostly towards rock music. but need an earphone that can hear the drums clearly
budget - around rm150~ preferably under rm150.
