My KCS-75 just spoiled (one side of the phone has loosy connection)

Do you think it's worthwhilte to get another? I really love the sound characteristic of it, tho it's much expensive now than the first batch of bulk in LYN I joined then.

QUOTE(Yuki Ijuin @ Mar 23 2010, 04:56 PM)
Update, I noticed that the Sony Ericsson IEMs are kind of lackluster compared to last time, anyone with a testimonial on this? Weakness still seems to be in the mid higher bands like piano sounds and some parts of vocals.

I prefer very, very neutral sounding earphones, even if the IEM already emphasizes bass, I will adjust the EQ accordingly but the effects are always better then the earphones themselves are amazing.

Any IEMs that are capable to produce signatures similar to Grados?

natural sound? well, u can always try RE0...

Yea but at the cost of mid high range clarity and soundstage. At least in the IEMs I've tested I've never really gotten satisfied.

Pros and cons for each type of different cans and phones. Auditioning is your best bet. happy.gifv

tongue.gif My priorities not on my ears mar. Just that I recently got a good new phone so I need an equally good pair of cans to go with it. The Stock IEMs are kind of annoying.

Queued up for a pair of KSC75s. Hope I can move on to bigger and better things in the future.

QUOTE(Dreamworks @ May 4 2010, 10:22 AM)
Greetings pros and sifus... Dreamworks here requires some advice on IEMs notworthy.gif Nothing too expensive, something around RM300 or less.

I'll be pairing it with a DAP for on-the-go music listening. I used to own a Fuze and nano but sold them away some time ago, might be going for a Zune HD or iPod touch 2G/3G.

Source mostly consisting of CBR@320kbps/VBR@v0 MP3s ranging from all types of genres except jazz, classical, and metal... Dunno why I can't stand those laugh.gif Sound quality takes priority, although a good looking pair wouldn't harm right haha...

I've shortlisted a few models though.
Buy locally:
1) FA Eterna (Wait for v2? It's already May drool.gif )
2) FA Silver Bullet
3) Hippo VB
4) Philips SHE9850
OR
Buy and ship from US (Hard to get or super duper expensive locally):
1) Monster Jamz @ USD85
2) Klipsch Image S4 @ USD69

Any other suggestions besides these? NO Crossroads/Koss/V-MODA(Heard they are not reliable?)/Sherwood(Too big?) ya. I could spare a lil extra for an amp like FiiO E1, but best without since I hate carrying so many things around tongue.gif

Thanks!

1. Eterna is a fun sounding IEM, its not accurate type of IEMs. great for rock and heavy metal, tranz, hip hop and bassy songs without sacrificing the detail (thou bassy phones tend to loose a bit of detail, eterna is no exception). this phone also picky on the source and it will reveal bad recordings with bad output sound.

2.silver bullet is a bright phones (and so ive heard)... some may like the brightness and some dont...

3. moniqee always recommend this to people... u have to ask her.... i never heard it before but the reviews are quite impressive....

impedance is like water flow and pipe
if big pipe with slow water no use
if fast water flow with small pipe also omg rite?
so pair the impedance with the mp3 or amp

sensitivity no idea
power input also no idea biggrin.gif

bro get the m30 then biggrin.gif

I'm looking for an in-ear earphone.
My budget is below RM300.

Would want something that looks good as well,
and perhaps durable (sometimes i listen to music in my bed and fell asleep so...)
Thanks!

Hi, I'm looking for earphones. I want those rubber in-ears earphones.

I used to have a pair of Sonic Gear Ear Pumps.

I'm looking for something within a budget of RM100.

I like pop, rock, trance music.

Some of you guys sell earphones. If you guys can offer me below-market price, feel free to PM me. Oh, only originals and with warranty pls. Tq.

Hi, can anyone recommend me a good pair of open-air earphones?

BUDGET= not more than RM200

reason why=

- for portability
- comfort (IMO in-ear earphones are uncomfortable in the long run, and greater risk for eardrum damage with high volumes due to pressurization effect)
- and lastly sound quality (im guessin there arent many high-end open-air earphones as compared to in-ear earphones, so i will not get the best of sound quality there, but thats what my full-sized heaphones are for... just lookin for one with decent sound quality, as i cannot stand listening to crappy bass)
*
lol....

with IEMs, i only crank my volume 60% the max. anyways, too much of things is not good, so does when using iems. u can take 5-10 minutes rest after an hour of using iems...

60% is actually a lot ady xD you're talking about ur CK100 or the baby Monster? For me I always fixed the volume around 20-30%(around the "skip backward" icon, nvr go beyond the "play" icon on my iPhone . Anyway, it depends on the volume that you set it at, you can get hearing prob wearing headphone that is worse than wearing IEM if you listen to it at high volume as well, the noise isolation in IEM blocks out environment noise so you tend to listen to music at lower volume than earbuds.
*
60% the max...
usually around 50% for eterna (since eterna u have to crank it up to enjoy it...)
CK100= 30% at my room/quiet place and 45%+- for a bit noisy place
Baby Stax= 12 o'clock or less .. sometimes more (mind u that baby stax stock sound is a bit soft... i have to crank it up to full volume to make it scream to my ears.... )
PL21= 40% volume
apple stock buds = 50%-60% as the sound leaks alot...
philips earbuds= same as apple stock buds

- need to be use at laptop, ipod touch and the sony walkman series
- using it for drumming. need to have a good noise isolation.
- listens mostly towards rock music. but need an earphone that can hear the drums clearly smile.gif
budget - around rm150~ preferably under rm150.

thinking of getting the soundmagic pl-20. is it ok?

much thanks biggrin.gif
*
why dont u grab PL21? its a balance phone with added bass....

as for listening to drums clearly.... u need a good source files too.... if ure using 128kbps mp3, u'll be having a hard time differentiate various drums sounds....
