go get a custom sleeve...
it'll solve most of ur problems...

beats is cool no doubt about that, but for that kind of budget, u may want to find some other phones that worth of ur spending

i'll say sennheiser, audio technica, grado, akg.... (well not to mention woody or electrostatic lol!)

why dont u go down to jaben at ss15, subang jaya (opposite asia cafe) for a test drive the brand that i mention of
u'll be surprise... (well and kindda broke after that...)

our ears are not equally the same same size...
i have trouble with my left side of my ears while the right is just fine...
custom sleeve should settle the problem....

althou custom sleeve is a bit expensive than hippo vb
or u could try different tips... maybe u can use smaller tips for ur left ones

why dont u try sennheiser hd555. senn sound signature is a bit layback... i think u can enjoy 10 times over the sony headphones one....

retail price is a bit higher than ur budget but i suggest u try it 1st... got a feeling u'll gonna love it....

last time i went to sony centre, tried every earphones they display.... and i thing i notice is most all sony's phones are bassy and muffled and clouded the mids and high....

i also like bass but too much it'll distort the mids and the highs which most probably lessen the the fun of the songs...

HD201 using for outdoors? well that would be too big would it?

why dont u try clip ons such as Koss KCS75? most of the ppl think is bang for bucks headphones (well clip phones really) and i think that is more suitable than using hd201 outdoors...
bass wise... i will say u'll be satisfied with KCS75.... do some research about it....

i owned fiio e5 but i only audition hd201 without fiio e5.... like usual... hd201 got sennheiser signature, the laid back type signature and i do find the bass is quite enough for me.... i would dare to say pairing with fiio e5 would really tighten the hd201 bass and make the bass sound cleaner.. but this is not the case...

HD201 for me are really big and not really portable IMHO.... why dont u give IEMs a try... ? they isolate well and no or less sound coming out and also portable. u might want to try Soundmagic PL21 for the price rm100 or rm80 (cant remember, i bought it last year) its a balance phone with added bass for kicks...

just suggesting.... as i dont think portability is wise if ure using HD201
