Hello guys, I need advices and recommendations about headphone.
Okay, I'm looking a Headphone (closed) that will hook nicely with ps3. Preferably one that can be connected directly (or indirectly) with the optical output. Do I need some extra device (decoder maybe?) to do this? Right now I'm using 3.5mm jack from the monitor to connect to my standard headphone. The monitor is connected to ps3 through HDMI cable. The main purpose for me to try this setting is to try out the Dolby 5.1 output from ps3. I'm using my ps3 mainly for gaming and I don't think I'll ever buy any blu-ray movies. Okay, another question, is Dolby headphones really worthy to spend money on it? or I'm better off using standard stereo headphones and spent the money elsewhere (more games)? tl;dr - what you currently have : PS3, free-headphone that comes when I bought my laptop - what type of usage : gaming (PS3) - source : Dolby 5.1 out from PS3? - type of music listen to : - - personal requirements like type : closed headphone, no mic, wired or wireless, support Dolby Headphones - budget : max RM 500, lower preferable. Thanks in advance. |

Hi to all sifu~
Thinking to get myself a pair of new headphone, as my current pair of headphone dah cacat Anyway, my pair of headphone is HPM-70, which inherit from my previous handphone, SE w810i. I take out the headphone part, connect with my new phone's 3.5mm convertor jack (my phone is Nokia 5800XM) The sound always giving me great pleasure, it have the bass i want, and just that the treble is a bit "blur" to me, yet, still acceptable for me. Therefore, i'm hope to look on something greater, or something like that. I'm looking for in ear / earbuds types (those who "plug in" into the ear deeply called as earbuds? sorry for the noobie ![]() - what you currently have (mp3 players, amps, soundcard etc) >> will be using on my 5800XM and Computers (PC and laptop), but more on the handphone for music pleasure - what type of usage (movies/ gaming/ music etc) >>Songs the most, then for movie on the computer. - type of music listen to (classical, jazz, metal, etc) >>mostly is fast beat song with ample of bass, like Super eurobeat, and pop, rock, techno, etc. . Other than that, instrument like Kenny G...well, i listen to quite a lot of song - personal requirements like type (closed, open, cirumaural, IEM etc). >>in ear/earbuds, ample of bass (at least better than the HPM-70), crystal clear sound (or at least clearer than my current one) Last but not least, looking at the range of RM 120~150...even willing up to RM200 if really worth it Hopefully my question will not bring you guys hard time... thanks ya ^^ PS: what is IEM ya?i just i know "In Ear something-something" This post has been edited by hIgHwAyStArZ: Feb 5 2010, 01:17 AM |

Music Valley SP1 (quite a balanced type with narrow soundstage quite suitable 4 fast beat IMO) 3. Soundmagic PL21 (not really sure but heard it focused more on bass 2...) |

Hello folks!
Need to get a recommendation for an IEM under RM200. Sorry if this has been asked before but it's kinda hard to browse thru a thread that has 50+ pages, even with the search function haha.. Anyways, main use would be for my iPod nano. I'm using Beyerdynamic DT231 for my laptop I was hoping to find an IEM that'll match it's performance (or at least close to). Looking for something that has: 1. good sound isolation, will be using it for daily commute to campus. 2. not too heavy on bass, mainly listening to pop-acoustic-y stuff like John Mayer, Tegan and Sara, Hanson and occasionally rock like Coldplay and Switchfoot. 3. international warranty, cos I'm going back overseas at the end of the month Currently have Bijous and Hippos on my shortlist but there's quite a few models there and I can't make out which sounds like what. Also how about Ultimate Ears MetroFi, V-Moda, AKG or Audio Technica? Looking forward to your suggestions. Cheers |
