RTK2 (on pc) is the game that i spent most time playing ever.. more than any console game...

I still play it every 2-3 years, love it.. few things i like to do :

1) conquer the few provinces around Province 10, make a big circle with a AI-ruler trapped in it. Force the AI to move to province 10, invade Province 10 , capture the treasure, then withdraw, then force the AI to move to it again.... repeat and repeat to get the women, weapons, books... was so fun.

2) use Zhuge Liang to advise on the "false letter" , keep trying and trying until he say its a good idea, then send the messenger to reduce the opponent's general's loyalty.. then either recruit or make him betray during battle.

3) put those useless generals (with extremely low stats) on the battlefield (with no soliders assigned to), burn them to death.

maybe i am too obsesses with RTK2, i never liked the rest of the series. but I am thinking of getting a PSP version (chinese preferred). anyone wanna let go?

Yes RTK2 is great !! I love to see the animation where people sending message, transporting goods, etc. and then see what happened once you intercept it brows.gif

For tactic no.1 I prefer to threaten the ruler after I can surround/ trap the enemy in circle. It usually worked with a high-charm ruler (like Liu Bei) and high-int advisor (like Zhuge Liang or Pang Tong), so I can conquer them without a fight.

Tactic no.2 is a good one too, I've tried it before. But I also have another strategy to fight them without needing real confrontation. How to do it ? simple just send a small number of soldier with lots of ration. I'm sure the enemy (the bigger, the better) will soon run out of food. This is the strategy I like to use for RTK3 as well, since in RTK3 the castle getting more complicated unlike in RTK2 you can just charge the enemy commander and capture the castle (because in RTK2 the defending commander always stays in the castle hexagon to protect it).

Tactic no. 3 never tried before, sounds horrible to me shocking.gif

Very tempted to get RTK4 for Sega Saturn.. is that a good game to start with? I haven't played a single RTK before icon_question.gif

RTK4 is also one of my favourite. But I've played it on PC at that time though, so not really sure about the Saturn version. It's also the first RTK4 which has a cd quality music, I believed. The characters are more refined than any of the previous versions and the one-in-one combat is awesome, so for me it's definitely one of the best.

I still remember playing the very first RTK on my XT computer with green monochrome monitor!! It came on 2 pieces of 5.25" floppry disks...

I also played the first one, but only after I finished RTK2. So I didn't find it as interesting as RTK2, because the visual of the RTK1 is very primitive (black & white) and no soundcard support (just pc speaker).
