This thread being made for RTK series discussion. Hope everyone who're in love wif RTK series will find this thread useful for conquering China!!

Romance of The Three Kingdoms Series

Romance of The Three Kingdoms I

Attached Image

Year Release: 1986

Platform: Amiga, DOS, J2ME, MSX, NES, SNES, WonderSwan

Never had a chance to play the 1st RTK series yet. Hope to play it on English Version!! (in my dream..) Still remember my 1st encounter of the
series; while playing Emulator King where 1 of the series are there. Tot a hentai game actually.. tongue.gif

Romance of The Three Kingdoms II

Attached Image

Year Release: 1990

Platform: Amiga, DOS, Genesis, MSX, NES, SNES

2nd ugliest cover for RTK series, and my 1st vote for the fugliest cover is RTK I ....No Doubt.. Never yet played. sleep.gif

Romance of the Three Kingdoms III: Dragon of Destiny

Attached Image

Year Release: 1992

Platform: DOS, Genesis, SEGA CD, SNES, TurboGrafx CD

I believed that this series I had stumble while playing Emulator King back then. If not mistaken, it's in Jap/Chinesse Language..

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire

Attached Image

Year Release: 1994

Platform: PlayStation, SEGA 32X, SEGA Saturn, SNES, Wii, Windows, Windows 3.x

Back on year 2000, just owned my 1st PSOne.. So late compare to other people. Stumble with this game but never bought it as the cover
pretty darn ugly.. whistling.gif lost appetite to play oledi...

Romance of the Three Kingdoms V

Attached Image

Year Release: 1996

Platform: DOS, Genesis, PlayStation, SEGA Saturn, Windows

Ive never seen this game sold for PSone version..and one more thing, it in Chinesse. Ought to play it on PSP but no English version.. sad.gif

Romance of the Three Kingdoms VI: Awakening of the Dragon

Attached Image

Year Release: 1999

Platform: Dreamcast, PlayStation

My 1st 'Enchilada' of RTK for sure.. Playing it in on my PSOne. Enjoyed it much but too little command available. Wish that more
feature included. A bit dull but satisfied my lust for the game

Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII

Attached Image

Year Release: 2000

Platform: PlayStation 2, Windows

One of my favourite RTK games. Eventhough the graphic a tad dull but, I love the skills available when battling. Skills like TRAMPLE, ARROWSTORM
SPEARWALL, BERSERK and etc had me love battle so much!! rclxm9.gif I prefer battling rather than sitting cowardly in cities. Most of the time, my Character will have
high WAR and LDR. Also, when you caught yourself battling some Tiger outside city, then if you re worthy you will get summoning creature.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII

Attached Image

Year Release: 2002

Platform: PlayStation 2, Windows

My all time favourite RTK game. Much of the skills are easily acquired by observing particular working ground. The best part when you get married,
and your spouse give you the Seven Star Sword with skill WAR +10!! Thats the best part when you become the most powerful being ever in RTK8!!!

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX

Attached Image

Year Release: 2003

Platform: PlayStation 2, Windows

This is the worst RTK game for me. I didnt like the game play ala red alert or any strategies game. Eventhough not liking it much, still manage to complete
the game 2 times..
sleep.gif

Romance of the Three Kingdoms X

Attached Image

Year Release: 2005

Platform: PlayStation 2

A same game play like RTK8... Love the 10th series so much. For me, this is the easiest RTK series as you can easily winning battle without a scrath on your
armies. The secret is to equipped TOWER on each of your officer while battling your foe...

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI

Attached Image

Year Release: 2008

Platform: PlayStation 2, Windows

Another copy of RTK 9... Had me yawning this time yawn.gif bought the game like a year ago but still never complete the game ever.. Rite now trying to complete
it but lost my focus a bit due to FF7 and DMC4 on the shelf... tongue.gif But hope to complete it at least once..

My Preferrence While Playing RTK:

- Not much thrilled to be one of the main Heroes in RTK (Liu Bei, Cao Cao or Sun Ce).
- Prefer to play as New Officer with Hi-LDR/WAR/INT/CHR
- Admired Character: Zhao Yun (my avatar tongue.gif ), Zhang Liao, Ma Chao, Lu Bu, Xiang Ji(Bonus Char), Zhao Yu, Lu Xun and much more!! rclxms.gif
- Wish that RTK series for PS3 will be realize.

Everyone with any Question @ Tips @ News for RTK series, pls do post here.

Romance of The Three Kingdoms Series - all time top list in my gaming history.. had my social life and work performance screwed many times because of this.. especially ROTK XI..

unlimited replay value.. conquered china countless times..

bro arc_archive, you should put urself more onto ROTK XI (there r 2 versions, latest one is an upgraded version).. the best in the series..

ROTK series usually release their new game after 1 and half year, but it has been 3 years since the XI series, i wonder KOEI would continue to develop this..

Long Live SanGuoZhi!!

P/S: I must say i am surprise to see this thread here..

Complicated game mechanic, very tough to pick up.
But once got it, it is endless fun. Yeah, consumes lot of time, and addictive.

I've bought VIII, IX and X, but only manage to play IX. The others just seem not able to learn up the game.

it is very nice game though. Excellent.

This game was so old..... my first ROTK was ROTKIII, then follow on ROTK IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, and XI.

Personal favourite would be VII and VIII becoz the ability to play as a normal general. Although the X does has the similar thing but still it is no match for VII and VIII u can even bloordy get married in the game.

XII will be out sooner or later since the Nobunaga game is releasing later this year. A improve system over ROTK IX and XI.

ive tried to play RTK11 but seems not too much fun juz being the ruler all the time..i want to be an officer and climb up the ranks till become viceroy...and being the most
influenced advisor to my liege..that only happen on RTK7, RTK8 and RTK10..hope the next upcoming RTK will be the same game play like 7 8 n 10...

i love the officer combination while battling on RTK11..most useful character is Guan Yu (God's Command).hell..he can do a lot of damage with normal attack!!and always, ive partner him with
Wei Yan (Chain Attack)...it can do a major damage to the foe!! laugh.gif

bro..its quite easy while playing 8 n 10 as you can be an officer rather than a ruler..being a ruler is pain in the a** if your powerful character being captive or employed by other force .. cry.gif

yeah..i believed 7 n 8 are being the best game in the series..in RTK8, you can easily gain money by just pillaging other cities..but make sure you save b4 doing that...in case your pillaging
not succesful, you can always divert back...ive completed the RTK8 several times as its being so addictive...still remember back then when im too obsessed playing RTK8,my PS2 turn on almost
3 days without rest..bcoz of this game... icon_rolleyes.gif

Erm, is this thread is the right place???

I mean, the game had its roots on the PC which is where it really should be.

Stuff like DW and so forth really doesn't do it any justice.

TGS 2009: Koei announces Dynasty Warriors Online for PS3

user posted image

Even from our poorly lit offices, some 6,500 miles away from the Tokyo Game Show floor, we heard shouts of jubilation coming from the Koei stage. The reason for the uproar was due to the announcement made just moments before: Dynasty Warriors Online, an MMO-Samurai-Warfare-Sim for PC, will be making its way to PS3 next year in Japan. Wait. We hear those cheers again! Man, our windows are closed! What's going on?

Details about the title are few, though the official DWO teaser site confirms that while the title will get a retail release, players won't have to shell out for any irksome subscription fees. Instead, Koei will be supported by the community's purchase of Musou Coins, which can be spent on special items and furniture. Furniture? Does this mean we'll finally be able to play as ... the Ottoman Empire?

RTK2 (on pc) is the game that i spent most time playing ever.. more than any console game...

I still play it every 2-3 years, love it.. few things i like to do :

1) conquer the few provinces around Province 10, make a big circle with a AI-ruler trapped in it. Force the AI to move to province 10, invade Province 10 , capture the treasure, then withdraw, then force the AI to move to it again.... repeat and repeat to get the women, weapons, books... was so fun.

2) use Zhuge Liang to advise on the "false letter" , keep trying and trying until he say its a good idea, then send the messenger to reduce the opponent's general's loyalty.. then either recruit or make him betray during battle.

3) put those useless generals (with extremely low stats) on the battlefield (with no soliders assigned to), burn them to death.

maybe i am too obsesses with RTK2, i never liked the rest of the series. but I am thinking of getting a PSP version (chinese preferred). anyone wanna let go?

Huge RTK fan...played VII the most...from VIII onwards less d cos of the battle system. I prefer VII where u can choose to fight or get instant results. Can VIII onwards get instant results from battles as well? Kinda lazy to go through the battle system.

Liked VII too cos I can choose to be an officer, resign, and take up a new province and slowly conquer China..hahahaha

Added on October 6, 2009, 3:21 pmAlso not to forget, Dynasty Tactics...interesting gameplay once you get the flow...one of a few games which I've played 5-6 years ago and still can play it today...
