Why? Looks cheapskate? I don't have much experience buying leather shoes... during work wearing low profile shoes only... because my bosses all also low profile...

Leather shoes have SST 10%
If unlucky import tax they charge 5-10% then easily the bill will add 15-20%

Quite difficult to pass, as nett value is indicated on the shipment label

Just checked customs website, imported leather shoes don't have import duty (HS Code - 6404), only 10% applicable tax. So now just depend on your luck, that 10% tax sometimes will include the freight charges also (will have rediculous amount sometimes).
*
10% applicable tax you mentioned is SST?

How do you do that (declare and pay in advance)?
*
Vendor will suggest in the payment page
if you accept, can tick on the option so final amount will be included tax + handling fees

Just received my shipment today, was block by kastam, have to clear the tax + processing fees to release.
Cost difference is only around RM30+
so it's like place a bet, if I won then tax free, if I lose then pay the tax + kastam processing fees (this is for my case, for your purchase please do your own calculation, I will not responsible for you loss incase kastam tax you higher)

Taxation is an individual responsibility of all citizen smile.gif

Yes, SST. But in the end is still depend on luck.

But very confusing

In Kastam page, they show leather shoes no SST and no Import or Export rate
(under PERINTAH DUTI KASTAM 2017 & PERINTAH DUTI KASTAM 2017 ARTIGA - HS Code 6404)

But in SST page, they show all leather shoe have 10% SST

Edit: Ok i found the keyword in Kastam page..
Out sole rubber = no SST
Out sole leather = 10% SST
means if you use shipment, better buy Dainite rubber sole

Does anyone know of any TLB Majorca / Meermin sellers in Malaysia? I'm thinking of getting a TLB Jackson Cuero wholecut or a Meermin 101540 wholecut sometime in the future.
Also, does anyone know the price range of Loake shoes at P Lal? I'm planning to get a pair of Strand or Aldwych oxfords for myself — the former is my preference (hopefully they stock these) — but I'm worried that the increased price here will throw off my budget (1.3K) a tad, lol.
*
P lal price range 900-1.3k is Loake, and some Baker.
1.5-1.8k Cheaney and some C&J
They don't carry many brands, also normal size like UK 7.5/8/8.5 always out of stock and slow replenish. I went back empty handed last 2 visits

Also, does anyone know if P. Lal has Loake 209/Spirits in stock? I desperately need a pair of substantial goodyear-welted boots. If these are not available I'm looking at purchasing the Erringtons or Mitchums.

I'm too ambivalent regarding the expenditure of money on better products, HAHA.
*
They confirm have Loake 290 and Mitchums
but might don't have your size, best is just give them a call

290 is polished leather, get full grain better

That's a much nicer last, and much better looking boot, than I expected from Herring. Very well done.

These are Carlos Santos (from Portugal) I believe,
Herring don't make their own shoes, they more like reseller

  haha, I don't have to post pics then
biggrin.gif  unless if the rest wants to see them.

Here's the white monks if some of you are wondering. It's from Carlos Santos, surprisingly it fits really really well with good arch support.
