wat/how does shoe rotation work?? yeah i guess i need to learn how to care for my shoes..

Have at least 2 pairs of work shoes since these are the shoes you will wear at least 5 consecutive days a week. This way you can rotate them every day; each pair has a 'rest' day after every wear.

Mind me asking, are those shoes comfortable to wear?? lets say continuous walking for around 3~4 hours?

Well I guess not everyone has nice goodyear welted or high end blake constructed shoes to show off. And since there isn't an alternative thread for shoes, it's to be expected.

Well yes, casual sneakers and such are perhaps better served in another thread. But what the post seemed to suggest was that nicely designed shoes, but perhaps not made on a goodyear welt or from a traditional shoemaker don't belong here either.

Having said that, back on topic, you mentioned goodyear welted shoes at RM300-400? Where and what would these be? The cheaper shoes I've seen which appear to be goodyear welted are from Clark's crafting range. Other than that, most of them seem to be in the RM500 and up range.

goodyear welting is not the only thing you should be looking out for. no point buying goodyear welted shoes that are made of corrected grain leather.

why worry so much about the construction of the rest of the shoe isn't going to last?

the idea behind goodyear welting is that the shoe can be resoled over and over again. if the leather isn;t going to last why bother.

Not sure of any particular cobbler in Singapore. Except for those usual Mr Minit or something in the malls. There is ed et al, but they probably charge about S$100+

adkins981: actually I came across some pretty decent florsheims. They are about 5xx or less after discount. There are some 30% discount or something. (Not sure if it's still on.) But I notice that there are not much love for florsheims in here. Mostly about the pricing in Malaysia. Correct me if I'm wrong.

kyuen7: Yeah Massimo Dutti is fine, however I always can find a flaw in their design. It is either their sole or their wingtip patterns. I have yet to find one which suits me just right. Sorry I am quite a particular person. Well if I can get a pair of Loakes for about RM500-600, I wouldn't mind stretching my budget for a bit. In fact, I would love to. Yeah that's what I always think, Oxfords and Wingtips they are something timeless. They never get old. I really should get my ass to PLAL one of these days.

So far? I've only bought cheapo shoes from department stores when they're on sale. Mostly from OG or Tang's here in Singapore.

I have yet to get my first pair of proper shoes, but that will be next in line. Probably when Herring or AFinePairOfShoes have their next big sale.

how is florsheim shoes for comfort levels?
