same here .... i feel that i don't earn enough.. 3.2k a month is not much if you got car and have to pay bills.

Sadly from what i see the range for procurement is like that . Even though if i had a bachelors degree and a chartered qualification it would still be around 3+k to 4+k only as an executive or AM.

The only thing i know is that overseas " England" only pays well for their procurement staff.

Hello All,

Am from India and got selected for a MNC recently as a Senior Software Engineer.

I am a professional with around 4.5 years of experience. I was offered 4300RM per month.

Is the salary enough for a couple to lead a happy life.

What will be the Income Tax for an Expat from India. ?

Thanks,
Harry.

4.3k per month for expat is low.
I have a few Indian expat friends.
most of them earning 5-10+k with experience 4-8 years.
There's one with 3 years experience is earning around 4.5k but he is single and young...he complained it is not enough.
Normally they rent condominium near Indian community where light railway transit and Indian food is easily available(most of them are vegetarian). Usually live in areas like Brickfield.
The room rent are not cheap there, around RM600+ per room or 2000+ for whole condo minimum.

Those who have wife and happy life are mostly 10k+

It's a new year again. Anybody got their increment yet? care to share? I'm still waiting for mine. Hopefully they'll give a good 1, because we don't get bonus sad.gif

My increment RM179 only. Haha. BTW, do you guys look at bonuses? I mean, if the pay is low, but the bonus is like 4 months or so (not contractual but consistent)... I know it's a cheap way of retaining staff, seting their value low and using bonus to offset... I can see 2 problems:
1) bonus can be taken away anytime
2) low salary value, when looking for job, even if you get higher salary, income PA might still be lower than current salary + bonus

What do you guys think?

Ala, Actually I was soo lucky to get this job lar.
My technical skills I think so-so only lar, maybe the interviewer attracted to my hensem face. Hehe..
I think most people always think sap is a lucrative job but actually its not really bro.
I would say for sap functional yes, they pay is quite high(but their workload is super high too!!) but for sap programmer I think the pay is about the same with java programmer.
