yup. 1.45v is definite volt. kalo lower, boleh boot tp screen biru akan kluar bile stressing. laugh.gif

1 to 1?? betol gak, sementara 1st weeks nie 1 to 1. baik aku hentam tgk~ brows.gif
*
Try 200 BCLK ler...jgn up HTT dulu...

See if that can require less volts... rclxms.gif

Klu mobo kong kasi tukar sudahhh whistling.gif

i'm on 200mhz, multiplier X14, HT link is at 1800. but... i cant decrease NB Freq... =/

so do i do like that?
1) higher multiplier by 1.0
2) log into windows
3) run OCCT Auto test

then repeat step 1,2,3 again till blue screen?
*
Nevermind thinking about the NB Freq as with 200mhz, it will be at 2000mhz, if the multiplier is at 10x

yap...continue to do like the steps u've mentioned... icon_rolleyes.gif

2000mhz should be ok smile.gif

just asking...

if i were to lower the HT link, increase multiplier, increase FBS, increase vcore to stabilize it...  wouldnt it be at a higher clock speed than just increase the multiplier alone?
*
Assuming that u understand the multiplier that I mentioned, the clock speed is multiply by the amount that u have set, for example, if the multiplier was set at 15.5, u clock speed will become 3100 (200x15.5)

Both HT Link an CPU-NB Multiplier let them at 10x and the HTT 200...

So none of them would be an issue when u fail small fft in prime... thumbup.gif

Anyone here uses the AMD retention kit from Prolimatech for their heatsink???

Does any production from other companies has the same design as the prolimatech? I wouldnt want the one from Xigmatek as it is only designed exclusive to work with their HS only

I read around and it says that the retention kits wobbles when the HS is not yet fix?

Got pix?? brows.gif real ones not press pictures wink.gif

Sigh, my proc cannot reach 3.85 GHz, no way to get it stable despite trying all night. I think it's my Biostar board limiting the OC, PC kept restarting no matter what. sad.gif
*
Its hard bro I know...even with an FX mobo, i'm struggling to get pass 3.7 stable...let alone >3.7...

Core fails erratically and would sometimes show up or not in prime...making the guessing game of adding vcore and setting ACC very tricky... yawn.gif shakehead.gif

QUOTE(uzer85 @ Nov 30 2009, 02:47 AM)
my mobo become weird liao~

been trying lots of setting and cpu volt (i mean a lot lot), now it cant boot on my normal 3.6ghz setting. pc wont boot.

need to take out the battery to clear cmos then baru can boot. ( giga dual bios oso kenot boot)

try 1.55v then the prob occur. probably my old chipset mobo terperanjat kot~

sigh......

Reflash to new bios, then start all over again... whistling.gif

oh i'm sry, forgot bout that, my specs

CPU: x3 720
MOBO: MSI 770-c45
RAM: 4gb ddr3 1333mhz
PSU: Acbel 510 E2
GRAPHICS: HD 4670 512gddr4

is there anything else i left out? i think my PSU should b enuf, mobo also quite ok for OC-ing rite? I jz wanna get it stable at 3.4ghz. Previously when i was on stock cooler, my comp was very stable at 3.0ghz 24/7, nvr BSOD or crashed b4, only thing i can only do prime95 small fft test, large and above, sure fail. now on new cooler, i up the voltage from 1.3 to 1.393 and set my multiplier to 17 for 3.4ghz also can do small test only, large sure fail..

anything 2 check for?
*
set 1.425v vcore, fan at full speed, prime 'SMALL' at 3.4, 3.5, 3.6ghz...see what happens...

and make sure CPU-NB is 1.275v and DDR3 ram is 1.7v

4GB DDR3 1333mhz is very straining whistling.gif

wat do u mean by straining? u mean for prime 95 large fft test? I tried on my previous setting of 3.4ghz at 1.393V, it was all fine 2day and on small fft test prime95, then when encode vid jz now, 15mins then blue screen z z zz

now i up to 1.409V, CPU-NB should up so much? cuz my default only 1.24V if i'm not wrong then ram I up to 1.71V but on CPU-Z, it still shows 1.5V though i rmb setting it to 1.71V in bios

now temp's at full load's 41-42, higher liao, idling's 33-34, gonna test its stability, hope it works...
*
I mean its hard for the CPU to work with a large amount of ram when overclocking....

Small FFT doesnt or almost NOT strain the memory....

CPU-Z dun have Vdimm display, only SPD which is data/information regarding the module stored in the chip on the PCB...

1.425 would be a good sub low voltage...1.475v or 1.512v would be the max for 24/7

If you dare, just 1.55v like me wink.gif

CPU/NB up so much??? There isn't a white paper that shows how much should we apply, just that every manufacturer sets it in the bios according to their spec...some 1.15v some 1.2v some even 1.275v...I would prefer 1.35v to help stablize the IMC to work with high amount of Ram

finally after some advice from antonio, I finally got my comp stable at 3.4ghz on prime95 blend test for 1.5hrs without a prob. My settings for my X3720 on MSI 770-C45 are

Vcore = 1.391V
CPU-NB = 1.26V
RAM = 1.71V

My temp's 32-33 idling and 41-42 at prime95 full load, funny thing is that if i put my ram voltage any less than 1.7V, my comp sure BSOD on prime95 blend test, is it OK to up ram voltage? from 1.5 to 1.71? looks so much increase 2 me and i got no ram cooling
*
brows.gif brows.gif told u edi... icon_rolleyes.gif

It's ok in the sense that if your ram has specification to run at that voltage....btw, what is ur ram chip??? drool.gif

QUOTE(kuntawakaw @ Dec 1 2009, 01:44 PM)
1.7vdimm is still safe bro..
sis ah khoo said ddr3 can increase up to 2.0vdimm..if antonio, sure he will push further..
at least the cpu cooler fan will take the warm air from the ram...so air does flow..
*
Me??? shocking.gif shakehead.gif mana ada...1.7v is juz voltage leak from tv compared to ah khoo 2.0v powahhhh rclxm9.gif

i tried to increase FSB than other setting is auto...
should i let it auto or else?
this mornig i tried OC my rig..
what i found is, OC is not easy task sweat.gif
tbh, im afraid if it will harm my rig sweat.gif
what should and should not i do for OC?
*

the problem is, in my bios have auto setting..
every time i try play with multiplier, other setting oso increase rclxub.gif
if i try to change manualy, i must put in value...
the problem is, i dont know what value must i put in...
or should i just change in window?
*
FSB (*ahem HTT) u put 200 and that is the only value that will affect multiplier...so if you put 201HTT your ram and CPU/NB would probably be at 2010mhz

So bottom line, 200HTT...unless you wanna break world record or fine tune ur OC....for Raw OC'ing, try 200HTT first whistling.gif

Why u drop your HT Link Multi but left CPU-NB Multi at 10x? blink.gif
Why ur temp so high? (stock cooling i guess wink.gif )

Set ur HTT back to 200

Set ur ram to 1333mhz (or 666mhz) in the bios....set ur main timings manually...if you dont understand, find CL or CAS or Cas Latency and set it at 9

Put your ram at 1.6v or 1.7 even better...

Then save and boot...see if post...if cannot, Clear CMOS by taking out battery or short circuit the jumper marked CLRCMOS..

If you don't reply, I assume your ram settings is wrong tongue.gif

U also can try by NOT raising the voltage....however, it would be a guessing games once u encountered instabilities....
