Problem Encountered : i wanna update my i3gs to new version 3.1.2. currently in 3.0. my problem is Backingup my phone take looooong time, at my phone is in Sync in Progress. i update my phone at 7.00am and at 12.30pm the backing up still no finish. why ha? can anyone help me?

Steps Taken So Far : just let the phone in backing up for 3rd times

Problem Encountered : cannot sync apps from iTunes into iphone after install the .ipcc file to disable the EDGE.

Steps Taken So Far : restore my phone. 

Other Information/Remarks :
i wan to disable the edge as i nvr subscribe to any data plan yet..
but i cnt sync my apps after install the .ipcc file.

once i restore my phone meaning the edge setting is enable.

Anyone know how to fix this?
im newbie in iphone.

i have tried. but when i wanna update my phone with itunes, it also backing up the phone. can i update my phone not using itunes?

i've follow all the steps correctly... i can successfully disable the edge.

but i think the problem appear after i type in "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 the command in the command prompt.
i cant sync my apps already.

Hey guys,I'm using iPhone 3Gs FW 3.1.2
Having this problem 2 days included today,every time i go settings then press home button the top bar those signal,wifi,time,battery whole bar gone.

i followed the steps correctly and i've successfully disabled the edge.

did iTunes show any error message stating that apps can't be synced or anything?

the command is to enable iTunes to recognize .ipcc files thus shouldn't be affecting the other functions of iTunes (such as apps syncing).

what i can suggest is to reinstall iTunes, enable the carrier bundle support again and see does the same issue arise.

I restart d still the same.
i disable the theme still the same problem

Problem Encountered : I've used my 3GS for only 5-days and according to the Usage counter, I've DOWNLOADED 1.3GB worth of data! This is impossible as I'm very sure I've not been downloading using 3G THAT much. So my question is... does the Usage counter take into account the number of data downloaded to the phone via Wi-Fi? I use Wi-Fi whenever I'm home or in the office.

I was testing TomTom out the other day, and after like 20mins of non-stop usage.. I noticed the back of my phone developed some sort of dark rectangular outline. It's very faint but also very similar to the pics i've seen of supposedly "overheated" iPhone 3GS'.

Anyone experienced this before?

Let say, all i have backup.. then i update to latest firmware.. how can i do manually restore each of them? without using itunes..

Why would Apple not approve such apps?

teikwing: i have backing up my phone and my phone already in version 3.1.2. but when i restore, all of my apps gone, contacts, sms picture still there. how to i get back my apps?

Sometimes when I open my application, or in the middle of the application (could be any application) or when i was just typing notes. it will just crash and jumped to safe mode~
Anyone got any idea what is occuring this situation??

is it some application causing it?? (but i've removed most of my application and my earlier application buy this still happening)
I tried once to restore my iPhone and only install a certain part of the application also like this...

Should i just install those application that i've download from itunes store to see if there's any problem?

hey people, just wanna ask if anyone out there experience the same thing as i do.

i cant seem to log in to lowyat (this forum) using my iPhone's safari browser. im currently using OS 3.1.2 on my iPhone 3g. ive tried on a few different wifi networks but i just cant seem to log into lowyat, not even on my 3g connection. anyone else experience this?

u know under settings --> phone, there's an option called "MY NUMBER?"
so yeah, i keyed in my number. is it possible to clear that number and leave it like before

Can anyone help? I still haven't found the solution to this prob and is irritating me alot... I try deleting all the application in the phone(DL from Itunes) and restore the iphone but the problem will appear again on the next day..Pls help..

yup, i've tried to access the web, weather and stock just to double check. I've talk to with Maxis, they said its stated in their system that i've use it, but my Cellular Network Data is only [send- 4.4mb and Received- 13.4mb]. Doesnt make any sense. I'll wait for Maxis to re-check, and see how it goes.

october they charged me around rm70 still acceptable, maybe was accidental. but im still figuring what is happening at Maxis, it ridiculous. I've never use EDGE at all.

no, dont use mail, normally just games, i don think its from there. And again, my edge is off from the first day i got, i read and follow the FAQ from AppleByte.
Lately i've used my phone for only call and texting, rarely used any apps.

A1: For non jailbreak iPhones, the easiest way to enable Celular Data Network Column is to use ipcc file @ http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/752226. If you cant see the ipcc file via iTunes, enabled Carrier Bundle Support in iTunes 8.2.
A2: For jailbroken iPhone users, you can download 'SBSettings' via Cydia to disable EDGE. You can also easily toggle On/Off for WiFi, SSH, 3G, etc. Take Note: *SBSettings has no icons. To launch SBSettings, slide your finger at the statusbar where your time/carrier is located. This will launch the program.

Even with SBSettings, EDGE is not completely disable. You need to access the Cellular Data Network column. i just find out there is another way, last time i check it wasnt there. The first thing i did after i restore my phone when i first bought was key in gibberish words  at the column. i've
triple check, accessing safari, weather, stock.

this wasn't there when i last checked back early this year, i could have slipped out, but im pretty sure it wasnt there.

addtional note*
the EDGE symbol on the top left never once appear. meaning EDGE is not activated right ?

The weird things is this happen last 2 months, where this 2 months, i have completely no time to play or use any of the apps accept call and texting. sigh.

Problem Encountered : The screen has faded (ie. looks like there's a white cloudy layer. Everything is working perfectly fine. Will it be the LCD problem?
