QUOTE(zoejehuty @ May 22 2010, 12:50 AM)
other than AFS n AES, what other species are most likely suitable for beginner? i plan to to keep other than AFS AES, but then still not yet the time to keep till those like deathstalker...
*
Try hottentotta hottentotta, lester have a bunch now i believe biggrin.gif
They are good stinger
Aside from that, bark scorp are pretty interesting too
They grow fast, more active, short gestation period and always use tail

Btw gotta love the bold part lol

Not all bark scorpion are desert....
Some need high humidity, some moderate, some low, depends on species
Deathstalker is dangerous, but some said hard2 keep also cause always died when molting

Depend on which one u like and which one u can find la
Even if i tell u that u shld try eg: H.Arizonensis but u cant find also no use
Have u try other Heterometrus species like longimanus or patersii?
If u prefer scorp tat use sting, u can basically keep any species aside from those with big chela and hot scorp

Accident happen even if u din plan to handle it
U just started la, not that i wan to look down u or wat but i think u really need some experience with other species 1st before going for hot scorpion

Added on May 24, 2010, 2:05 amAnw, not sure if the one he selling is really exilicauda or sculpturatus
This two species which are very similar and often swap their scientific name from times to times are often misidentified
If it's indeed exilicauda then the venom should not be as bad according to wikipedia (Thou it's a unreliable source)
U should do more research on google if u want to know more

i just keep heterometrus longimanus... other than that i think i nvr keep before.
i got my afs from deathpion last couple weeks, if i not mistaken it is also H.longimanus.
what is your meaning of big chela and hot scorp?
*

If u can find, juz get it

This link might help u decide, but finding for the species u wanted is another issue....
http://scorpionforum.darkbb.com/scorpions-...izard-t2198.htm

All i can say is, do ur research on various scorp species and also survey around market in malaysia to see what species is available

Well.. i did the test..
Suggestion was : Centruroides sculpturatus or Hottentotta spp.

Lol.. which was my next target scorpions..
*
Why u choose intermediate to advanced scorpion lol
Stick to beginner one first la, u just started like, less than a month isnt it? hmm.gif

QUOTE(zoejehuty @ May 24 2010, 03:52 PM)
i did check it out, really hard, cause hard to get the species in malaysia... lol.

Added on May 24, 2010, 3:54 pmwho in here selling any scorpion? maybe i should look through here though...
since if got sell then only you can get.
if you wan to get the species, but then no one selling, also no point of that. biggrin.gif
*
U shld go to pets store section, find all the scorp seller and list out all the species then research one by one instead of asking here man

can hottentottax2's venom lead to death ?
is it really that suitable for a beginner?
though i find that there is difficulty in keeping this species  unsure.gif
dun really understand what do they really need doh.gif
*
Never heard of hottentotta being deadly but should not underestimate this species as they are kinda defensive
Aside from proper environment, i always think they need some ''luck'' too laugh.gif

QUOTE(akagidemon @ May 24 2010, 11:37 PM)
did sumone say longimanus...

i'm interested to see any picture of the specimen.
