Dun underestimate their sting, although it cant kill u but it can pack a heavy punch
Ppl always describe the pain as a hot needle or nail puncturing ur finger

Nice pic Andrew.

Scorps with thinner exos glow brighter. Experiment blacklighting with a very thin layer substrate and light source from under the container. The light refracts and reflects off the walls to create a well-balanced glow and less room for shadows, resulting in a better ambience and sharper pics. The scorpion ends up looking more 3D as well.

Thin exos glow brighter. Thick exos still glowbut with a different tint..

What blacklight did Alex use on his scorp? Did it need replacement batteries/bulbs? Are there pics or witnesses?

Yeap2. Good luck.

Btw, scorps glow only when the wavelength of the light that hits their exos are right. In the case of the Chaerilus, there is probably more to it than simple exoskeletal thickness. I'm guessing the composition of the materials that make up the exo itself as well as the jizz permits it to glow. They are definitely covered with thinner 'skin' compared to the standard Heterometrus. But the compositions may be very much different, resulting in a very mellowed down/almost nonexistant glow.

You amuse me. But you're also going to make the kids 'think its ok to let a harmless bug envenomate them by means of self infliction'. I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but I have very short tolerance for people like you. You're better off playing with high end morph leo geckos or ball pythons you attention seeker you.

dun get me wrong, there is always an understanding regarding what i am getting into 1st.
1 shall never understand how dangerous it is to keep a scorpion until i taste the sting.
at least i wont worry if i suddenly got stung while cleaning or something in future and know what will happen.
reading about swimming and swimming in a pool is 2 different thing.

no hard feelings~

Actually imo if u wan2 really understand what ur getting into, i suggest u to put ur effort into researching bout their captive care instead of risking urself here
So long if ur careful with them, chance of u getting stung by a AFS is very very low
I have been keeping scorp for around 3-4years and i have not been stung by any yet
But then its ur choice also la, just hope u know what ur doing
Got ur reply from the seller yet?

happy chinese new year everybody.

evansoon the word u are searching for the body allergic reaction to scorpion venom is anaphalectic shock..

this reaction is often deadly if not treated. there have been cases of a human being stung by a single bee and dying in 5 minutes due to the severe reaction.

the treachea basicly swells up and causes asphyxsia. this is usually the cause of death.

Well good luck then. Just don't mislead others into thinking all is good just because you're in close proximity to the hospital. Please post what you understand from the taste of the sting after you're done. I bet it'll be a really enlightening experience for both your buttcheeks no matter how 'harmless' the species you try with.
