QUOTE(ozak @ Jan 22 2013, 11:38 PM) Found the problem. It is the idiot YPAO. YPAO set the front speaker to large and lower the SW to low hz. Because large speaker can produce lower hz. So YPAO put all the low hz to the front speaker and lower the SW trigger. That's why SW keep zzzz.. After set the speaker to small for the front, YPAO high up the low hz for SW. Now the SW easlly wakeup from zzz... Thanks guys. Hehe, I use ypao for initial setup, follow with manual adjustment

QUOTE(samowong @ Jan 23 2013, 09:36 AM) The same thing happened to me during my initial setup of the V473. Used YPAO - it set the front speakers to large, SW to none. Kept me up all night, squatting near the SW trying to listen to low bass, nothing at all, till i changed the setting to small front speakers. Check out this link http://sinan.ussakli.net/basstest/I use the Ultimate Tests to check the 'viability' of my SW Others tests are quite fun too. Could it be the doesn't ohms are difference? So it auto at to large? I am paring with yamaha speaking, maybe paring is easier.

QUOTE(samowong @ Jan 23 2013, 01:08 PM) I don't think i have audiophile ears. But i do detect a big difference in sound quality when i initially checked out a samsung HT-in-a-box, and compared it to my current setup. Thank goodness i did some research and auditioning, and paid more for the current setup. It is worth every penny. Mine's PSB Alpha T1 at 8 ohms. How do we grade a speaker large/small? Most lower-mid range Yamaha speaker i see are usually 6 Ohms. At least the few model i audited. This post has been edited by weikee: Jan 23 2013, 02:31 PM

QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 5 2013, 07:44 PM) My 673 + sw315 sub + psb c4, c5 already cost me 5200. And it is not surround. You plan to have 5.1 or 7.1?

QUOTE(cfkian @ Feb 19 2013, 11:00 PM) I did planned to go jalan pasar and i told the sales rep about this. He commented that all the cables in jalan pasar are from China and is lower quality. Therefore I hope to get the sharing of experience from you guys (pioneer of Yamaha Home Theater System) if it is ok to get from jalan pasar. Thank you very much Actually is your setup that require expensive cables? is it a 100k system setup? an average system with normal speaker cable shall work. Not that it will make huge difference. Save the money to upgrade better speaker. I got my cables from radio shack, mid valley for the convenient sake. If I stay near by Pasar Road, I will go get from there.

QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 28 2013, 12:36 PM) Actually in real life using, most of this network/wifi thinky is rarely using. I try like airplay and network play on the 673. The music quality is bad. Till I don't bother to use it. It depend the source of the music, if the encoding is only 128bits the quality is so so, but if is 196, 256, and higher the quality also improve. I network all my devices (that are networkable) I use Yamaha apps to control my AVR, I use Dune Apps to control the Dune player all from my android phone.

QUOTE(dickybird @ Oct 26 2013, 03:43 PM) Haha. I'm serious looking at the v375 just to add some punch to the sound from my htpc. Or should I get the v475 so I stream Internet radio and play music from my htpc? Think price different are not much for the two model. Get 475 will be better. I am using 473 so far so good.

QUOTE(dickybird @ Oct 28 2013, 09:48 PM) Thanks for the feedbACK, not sure if the network feature is needed to stream internet radio. but if i can save 300 then i will and just run the radio off the htpc i guess. Sure need Network to stream internet radio. 475 come with standby HDMI pass-thought, Audio DLNA. I find the stanby HDMI Pass-though is useful when want to watch kids cartoon, don't have to switch on the AVR, just use the TV speaker.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Nov 5 2013, 09:47 AM) How much you are letting go your v673? Can it do passthrough hdmi to tv without turning on the amplifier? Sonetimes I just want to watch tv without the amp. My 473 able to do passthrought without AVR on. Only need it to be standby. 673 higher end, should be able to do it. This post has been edited by weikee: Nov 6 2013, 12:22 AM

For me, I will save the money for better speaker.
I am using V473 + SPK160, and an active sub (sw315). If I remember correctly I got it less than 4k, added 2 years extender warranty is about 4.2k. But that was in 2012.
The spk160 rear speaker not that nice, may want to change my front speaker, and move it to the rear.

QUOTE(Karmaneraka @ Jul 2 2014, 08:52 AM) Not decide about speaker yet... But my budget for AVR around 2K.. Maybe speaker also around that.. 1.5k to 2k... You want 5.1 or 7.1? If only 5.1 get Yamaha v475 (if still can get), and invest better speaker and sub. If cannot get v475, get the v477. v477 did not have any major improvement. The power and dimension are identical.

QUOTE(Dage @ Sep 4 2014, 03:45 PM) i have been reading this thread for a while now. going out to scout for a proper yamaha system my budget it around 3.5k +- anyway, i notice some of you buy from HN. is this a good idea, i mean if we buy from local shop, at least they help to set up and put up the rear speaker and tune for you right? I doubt so. I ask few HiFi shop, is paid and carry/deliver, no setup. Unless is an high range system. Maybe I didn't press them too much, you can try.

QUOTE(kekura @ Jan 7 2015, 05:29 PM) I got the answer myself. PB210 is no longer produce. So I'm going for PB160. Harvey Norman doesn't sold separate, so have to source from Yamaha. The FM connector, since I used the roof antenna, I have to buy several connectors/converters from Ace Hardware to fit in. Another thing, the Spotify feature in this AVR is superb. Can stream very high quality and unlimited songs, the sound quality produced by the RXV is unbelievably good. When using roof antenna, make sure have a lighting isolater, if not lightning may fry your avr and connected devices
