Should be SPL1200R or the newer SPL1200Ultra.

At RM3K, it is indeed a steal. I had the 1800 for some time. It is indeed a very good av receiver. While it is a bit on bright sounding, the music reproduction was good. Never sounded thin.

Movie being handled with enough details and dynamic. Its bass may not be very punchy but it's good enough to give you the slam when called upon w/o losing control. Then only downside is the not-so-efficient YPAO against Audyssey.

Set it to bitstream. If you are using PS3 slim, then it is able to bitstream HD audio and those codecs will be displayed at avr. Ori ver PS3 can only do MPCM.

Probably Denon AVR-1610 around that range. Or 1910 before taxes

Definitely at least midrange setup to go with this gem. What kind of sound do you prefer? Listen to a lot of music or mainly for movie?

Yamaha's Cinema DSP is Digital SoundField Processing, you can play around with the programs to give you diff effect like, Hall, Spectacle, etc, if the Cinema DSP don't appear, meaning you are running at Straight mode, means no extra effect added, sound signal truely from the Blu-Ray player
*
Ex-1800 user here. I do not like the DSP effect. Tried that out and preferred Straight mode. The DSP effect is trying to replicate the sound of the selected DSP. IMHO, it ruins the actual effect. AFAIK, many users also prefer to use 'Straight' mode.

The YPAO is one of the earliest room optimization s/w available. It was indeed impressive at that time. However, the cream of the crop should be Audyssey latest MultEQ XT32 s/w that could do 512x resolution for each channel as well as Sub EQ up to 2 subwoofers for 8 positions. It is quite a leap forward.

Morning guys

Last night i try to switch on my volume to -26DB with 7 channel.
My Yamaha 467 suddenly turn off automaticaly. After that, re-on back and same thing happen. Repeated for few times.

After that i change my power socket.Problem cured.

Izzit not enough power ? i keep on and off the AMP. Heart so pain.
Will it dmg my amp ? omg...
*
Since there is no problem after you changed the power cord, I guess it is the defective cord. If problem still persists, it could be the avr in protection mode due to overload or there is a short internally.

I guess that your 567 does not allow Audio pass thru via HDMI when it is on standby.

currenly usisng Yamaha 467 amp. If lets say i plug in Pa speaker. Will it produce nice bass even withoud active subwoofer?
*
It can't. The active subwoofer is being fed via the sub pre-out and subwoofer usually can produce very low frequency. Now, there are choices for sub that can go as low as 20Hz or even lower at 'affordable' price.

A normal PA speaker is not able to produce LFE as sub does. Moreover, its application is different. You might find it not as clean as dedicated loudspeakers meant for HT.

you can turn off the scalling...select HDMI Through....but I don't think the V471 can do scalling to HDMI input.
*
A quick search on google returns confusing data. Some sites say there is no upscaling (pass through switching) while some mentioned it upscales to 1080p. Best is to refer to the manual. rclxub.gif

Onkyo NR-616 already reached our shore. By July and August, we shall be seeing more new models from these giants.

Like otnuus mentioned, the current generation avr are good enough for the software available. I doubt that the studios will be employing new audio format so soon. The 7ch will be here for some time. A 9 ch system will not be so popular as it will consume more real estate for speaker placement.

Anybody knows the price of V673 and where selling? Saw one at Desa LY but the salesman didn't know the price. I presumed they just got the stock, but that was about 3 weeks ago.

Look for Mr Lim of Acoustique System in Amcorp Mall. It is on level 1. Very reasonable price

Yamaha audio is being distributed by Yamaha Malaysia and not HN. HN is a authorised dealer, just like Acoustique Systems, A&L, etc.
