Dear all,

I'm currently dating a guy who doesn't like to drive. Other than for short trips to a few familiar places, he'll suggest we either take LRT, taxi or that I drive (either my car or his). His car is rather old too.

The thing is he is not a useless bum or anything like that. He is intelligent, open-minded, has a decent career, is a successful investor and so on. In short, he has his oddities but is quite a good catch tongue.gif

My question: is it normal and socially acceptable for a girl to drive her boyfriend on dates?

Girls, your opinions please.

it usually becomes a problem to the guy, because guys like to be in control.. and lets face it, not alot of girls can drive. smile.gif

but other than that, its perfectly normal, quite nice actually.

If u starts to question, means more or less u are being annoyed/sensitive about it already.

Would u rather him to buy a bigger better car to drive u around?

I dont care whether its socially accepted or not, but i do like being pampered too just sit and being fetched.
Guy and girls should be treated equally isnt it?

Maybe he knows that you know that he is a good catch and he is using it to his advantage. Still even so if he is good in all other aspects I don't think u should throw away a good thing.

Also remember that girls are known to always be unsatisfied with what they have and always looking for a guy's fault and try to change it to what they want. Sometimes it is a good thing most of the time it is not.

it's not a problem, girl smile.gif u get to play your own music in the car!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

unless he's one of those passenger drivers who tells you to speed up, slow down, look left look right etc. then it's no big deal for me

on the other hand, if smtg bugs u, u should just tell him, no matter how silly it is. don't let things build up inside you bcos he won't understand tongue.gif

not a problem at all for me. my boyf prefers to drive so i just let him.

however, my mom, has been driving my dad around for years. whether they go out for dinner, go office, go kl or wherever. even long distance convoy driving like to china or thailand, my mom will mostly drive. my dad only drives when he's going out for lunch by himself or when he really needs to. most of the time, me, my mom or my aunt will ferry him around.

so i see no problem in girl fetching the guy out for dates.

This is your answer TS.

Its a normal thing.

I don't know why it isn't socially acceptable for a girl to drive a guy out. Wth.
Has society brainwashed us so brutally? >_>

I would like to drive my girl out, if I had a car. But, I wouldn't mind one bit, if she wanted to drive me out. I'd feel honoured instead ;D

hes a smart investor indeed. car depreciate so fast once it leaves the showroom. he save a lot by not driving, on petrol, toll gates, parking, maintenance, etc.......

i for one would have no problem with a girl driving. even if it driving my car. it shows the trust and confidence i have in that girl.

taking public transport is nice... just the two of you spending time together... i like that... occassionally... and i guess having the gf to drive you around at times is nice.... biggrin.gif
and generally, guys don't really trust other people with their car but he's offering you his car to drive... may it be old or new... it's a trust... smile.gif
that's a start... i trust my ex-gf alot... i would let her drive both my cars.... hahahhaah.... well... my working hour is a little odd so i can't always drive her to class and back.... so i let her drive the second car... or sometimes if she's going out in a bigger group, i would let her drive the bigger car and vice-versa.... biggrin.gif

If he's such a great catch, why should you give two shits about what's "socially acceptable"?
