If I'm not mistaken, ori xperia will cost around 1800-1900, ap i'm not too sure, a month back it was around 1500++ range. Try checking out the handphones section in the garage sale.

@rkwan

I'm very happy on valkyrie 3.6.53 too, if the battery life is on par with itje's rom then it would be perfect, now mine will last around 1 1/2 day.

@xcen

When I was on jack's rom, I manually extracted the files that I wanted from his UC package.. =)

@sol_fw

well get the xperia and u won't regret..

@chong_kiatz

Valkyrie 3.6.53 is a ROM but not a battery saver application. We were talking abt the battery life of the phone when using that particular version of rom.

Sometimes I do charge overnight when I realized that my batt is almost dead just before I go to bed.

I think it's better if charging is done with a dedicated wall charger. PC USB doesn't has enough power.

Yesterday I encountered a very weird incident, just before I slept I finished charging my phone, and when I woke up it was 48%.. I was freaking shocked, 7 hours dropped 52%.. No idea what happened, as far as I'm concern there is no background programmes running.

I just realised that G alarm is a battery sucker. Whenever I set an alarm for the next morning, my battery life will be significantly weaker compared to weekends when I don't have an alarm on.

Any other alarm suggestions peeps?

Use google, go to xda forums xperia rom development section. You'll find out all the roms there. Choose one that you like. I would recommend you to try valkyrie, touch it, Jack v3 for WM 6.1, V4 for WM 6.5. You won't go wrong with either one.

@rkwan

I'm downloading valkyrie 3.7 Leo now, but won't be flashing it. Will wait for more reviews in xda first. I'm a bit tired of reinstalling all my softwares after flashing. Perhaps you can try it and do a mini review? hehe =P

Usually when u flash a custom roms, quite a number of handy softwares are already coooked into the rom by the chef, so you'll only have to install those softwares that you need. I think the garmin you're using is pirated.

@yyap2

You can try jack v4, energy rom or valkyrie. I've tried jack v4 and valkyrie. Both are good & stable enough for me.

WM 6.5 is not out yet officially and I don't think it'll be available for the xperia X1. So you won't be able to get WM6.5 thru SEUS.

@yyap2

This has been discussed a few pages back. In your garmin mobile XT, go to Tools, then settings, system and select the fist option - remote gps. If it display com3 com4, disable it and select gps itermediate driver. Then you'll get the signal bar.

@jase

You might have the wrong map in the database. Go to malsingmaps.com to download the latest malaysian map, I'm assuming that you're in malaysia right now.

@chongkiatz

The rom itself includes the whole operating system. Most roms available in xda are based on WM 6.5. When you flash, you get WM 6.5.

Yes, and u only need to hard spl once.

@arvinddakshen

I've been having this same prob ever since I started using valkyrie. Just cut the mp3 that you're using so that it only rings for a few seconds.

For those who want their xperia in WM 6.5 original, there is a clean rom available in xda. Only WM 6.5 + R3A, nothing more.

As far as I'm concern there is no other way. That's way I'm using a very short mp3 tone. Makes my life much easier.

The latest original rom is R3A. Just download the Generic UK R3AA010 rom. There is no malaysian version of the firmware.

Welcome to the family. Enjoy your new toy!

Anybody using gadget shieldz here? I'm interested in getting one and try, using the pouch is a little bulky for me as I'm always on the move.

Btw, rota v2 rom is coming out soon, maybe I'll give it a try. I've been on FS 3.6.53 for quite a while, ever since I uninstalled G alarm the battery life improved significantly. Now a single charge can last me 2 days.

When u fill in your details for messenger there is a option sync all my contacts, untick it. Very simple.

@youliang

That's what I read. Installation looks a bit tricky to me.

@windchaser

It works for me that way when I untick the contacts. At least there is no msn contact in my phone book.

@rkwan

I"m overseas right now. And I don't think I wanna risk putting up the shield myself, might just screw the whole process up.

I've not flashed to rota's rom yet. Decided not to because I know his rom are always full of bugs when first launched. Most probably will be upgading to valkyrie 3.8.20 LEO.. Just wanna give it a try.

@rkwan

Any feedback after using valkyrie new rom? I won't be flashing yet because even valkyrie Leo's rom are not stable. So I'll wait for your review first. =)
