Rota got the basics very right edi, next few release of him with the help of comments will make his rom super smooth, fast and stable.

I'm sticking with rota for now. It's ultra ultra ultra smooth. Task manager, Windows Live Messenger and Calculator can be installed, not a big deal.

Avoiding local time settings is easy enough.

Anybody got Firestorm's Fire background picture? brows.gif

You're tempting me. Perhaps I'll try it out tmrw. Btw mind repeating how do get to get the right display for time & location? And where will u get task manager, windows life messenger & calculator from? not forgetting office mobile.

@rkwan

I read a poll on whether WM 6.1 or 6.5 is better, some mentioned that 6.1 is much more stable, perhaps I'll give Jack's v3.6 full as I need the chinese support. Keep us updated.

Maybe not too wise to try it now. My comment came too early, rota's ROM has one big big problem - The SMS function lags. Click on a message, wait for like 10 seconds before it is loaded.

To get right display, activesync your phone with your computer, make sure the sunc is finished. Click on the big Manila clock, press add city, choose your city. After that, select your city and it will display your time correctly.

Added on September 18, 2009, 11:01 amWM6.1 is stable yes, but no kinetic scrolling sucks big time. WN6.5 is more of a eye candy too.

Rota's battery life is awesome, around 1% drop per hour. Does this mean it can last more than 3 days on minimal usage? If that's it, then it's just plain awesome.

I'm using itje's 5.5LEO now. The SMS problem is still there. I think this is the common problem for newer builds.

SE Shop, very expensive I'm afraid. Dropped my phone the first time yesterday, about 50cm in height.

It was in my lap, then my house phone rang. I got up and BAM!

Dunno who keep calling me but once I pick up he'll put down.

Added on September 18, 2009, 3:08 pmFor people who are using Manila 2.5 HTC Messaging and experience very bad lag and misalignment issues, go here -> http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=629&page=7 and see post 104.

Download the cab and use back WinMo's awesome message application! Totally stable!

Touch IT LEO5.5 seems so good so far, very smooth, better than Valkyrie IMO, I don't know about the battery consumption but Touch IT's memory consumption is significantly less than Valkyrie's.

I'm comparing to both. FS3.1 is fast, but not as fast as Touch IT V5.5. Valkyrie LEO's speed is just nothing compared to Touch IT, really nothing. Scrolling through tabs have never been this easy since I left Jack V3.

I wonder why Rota's and Itje's ROMS all use settings plainly from Manila. They do not let us have access to the settings from start menu. I prefer the traditional settings of WM, more functions.

Anybody used Rota's v1.2 rom? I'm using Itje's LEO5.5 and is very happy, reluctant to change unless it's really worth it.

The last time I used v1, it was really fast and smooth.

When I was on 3.4 yes, I had this issue. But on 3.5.52, battery life is much better. Will try out 3.6 and report back. I would rather have battery drain issues as I'm very comfortable with the icons layout of valkyrie compared to touch it..
*
Thanks yea, I will consider Valkyrie if the report is good. biggrin.gif

nod.gif agree wif that~ Mayb bcoz valkyrie was the 1st rom i flash~ I more used 2 the icons layout of valkyrie compared wif other roms~

@xen
I din try 3.4, so i din face any battery drain issue until now~
But u shuld gif it a try on valkyrie~ It's really a nice rom i can say~
Jz gif it a try, den u will addict 2 it~  lolx~
*
I tried 3.1 and 3.3, all of them has the fast battery draining thing. Plus, the Manila is not as smooth as itje. I hope the latest version has it all fixed.

Den tats weird, my fren using 3.1 now~ The battery life is quite gud wor~
Is it bcoz of heavy usage? If not mistaken, if heavy usage, the battery life can stand onli jz for 1 day~
But last time when i was in 3.1, the longest i can stand for is 3 days with normal usage~

Well, about the smoothness, bcoz i not used 2 the icons layout of Touch-it, so about half an hour after flashed 2 Touch-it, i change b 2 valkyrie last time~
So i din realize tat much about the smoothness~
*
Not really heavy usage. It seems that with Valkyrie ROM it'll have some background activity that I do not know about during standby, when I pick up the phone it's warm and about 40% of battery is drained. I had the same problem with 3.1FS and 3.3LEO.

With itje and Rota's ROMS, all of them lasted very long because there aren't any background activities on standby.

Anybody knows any substitute for Footprints? When I was using Jack's V3, I can use Footprints program but no tab for it, is it possible to use it in newer WM6.5 ROMs also?

Yup, LEO 5.6 has footprints working, but too few comments to tell if it's as stable as 5.5 or not coz itje said he had to mod some of the packages, plus his X1 got owned by a cup of coffe, sweat.gif

I'll wait a few days and see.

That's quite a lot... LEO5.5 is draining less than 10% for about 8 hours of standby.

But it's certainly much better compared to the previous version of Valkyrie.

Yeah, I hate the settings thing too. Registry edits still wouldn't make owner information appear. sweat.gif

I'm ok with 3 way layout though..

Added on September 22, 2009, 9:24 pmOh, it seems that all the WM settings are back in 5.6LEO.

Guys, careful if you're flashing to Touch IT 5.6. It will not sync with your PC, make sure you download the fix in your storage card first. I didn't and I had to figure how to edit the registry all by myself and finally i'm able to sync to my PC.

Footprints work but I can't find owner info and other settings, need confirmation from itje.

Flashing Energy ROM 2.5 now.
