btw, i just realised last night from reading the user manual. Persona's AT is Invecs II???

Invecs is from Mitsubishi right? I thought Proton claimed since the Waja they are using their own stuffs?

The engine is purely malaysian designed and made or what? Got follow any Mitsu engines or not???
*
Gearbox is Mitsu.. if i'm remember correctly.

Campro is chapalang..the so-called reverse engineering.., and the result delivered is an "incomplete" product until CPS was released..u know what am i talking about, weird torque curve, lack of low end power...

Any proton engineer here care to clarify more ??

hi all persona owners, i hav questions about the tail light of persona. If I turn on the lamp is it all the 4 bulb of the tail lamp will be lights up?  I always observing GEN2/persona on the road at night or braking, one of the 4 bulb will not lights up. I checked mine yesterday and found out my left rear light one of the bulb didn't lights up. Mine is a SE 9 months, is it the tail light bulb so fast and easily to be burn? How much does it cost to replace the bulb?

bro cheeann can shake off the blm lo ...bcoz your ride can do 200kmh.. icon_rolleyes.gif while BLM/PerSona not qualify to join 200kmh club.. wink.gif

BLM did 190kmh..with that kind of soft and gentle suspension, not so grippy tyre. I dare not gamble my life even with my PerSona..i only speed..but not that crazzey to push to the limit.

haha.. but still need to try to find out. Who knows it might bring miracle to our car?  laugh.gif

Just tried mobil. The engine surprisingly quiet (less vibration), but the power is dull.
I wonder those tyres like goodyear eagle F1 or toyo that got V shape thread really good? they look canggih  sweat.gif
*
GoodYear F1 GSD3..
V shape tread ribs enhance wet performance, but it is Noisy...somemore dry grip nothing to shout about smile.gif

I would go for Gdyear F1 Assy..smallest size is 17" and above.

guys, i would like to ask that...

since i'm going to do the 20k service, and i'm planning to use the fully-syn engine oil, so that i can skip the 25k service (no need pay the labor fee for 25k) and straight to the 30k service next time.

can i do so?
*
Yes, full sync..service interval is 10k.
1k->5k->10k->20k->30k->40-> . . .

I know exactly how u feel. In my case, it was by my part time maid and it was on my black MyVi (my ex car). I came back from travelling and remembering it was dirty...and suddenly it was sparkling clean.

Check check.... upon close up, to my ABSOLUTE HORROR, swirl marks to my perfectly mirror finish all around the car. I feel like f***ing her already. I really wondered what she used to wash till like that....

Based on my experience, do not and i repeat again......DO NOT USE any SCRATCH REMOVERS stuffs. It will cause your perfectly fine mirror finish to become "hazy". Just apply WAX. If it is still visible, wax it several times.
*
hehe, me too..i like changing tyre and brake pad biggrin.gif

Hi fren, thanks for sharing out the garmin files & installation guide.
Currently myself is using Garmin on my Nokia xpress 5800. I found that the orignal GPS from my A800 is not user friendly. Therefore I just 'jail' it in my kampung tongue.gif
Now, with your kind sharing, I hope that my A800 can work with garmin and can be released from 'jail'  rclxms.gif

Btw, roiss, can you share us the Papago's files and installation guide as well  wub.gif
If A800 really cannot work with Garmin, at least I can go for 2nd choice. Thanks fren, good job  thumbup.gif  rclxm9.gif

I sent my car to Sungai Besi Eon Service Centre. A guy told me that campro engine is full filled with 4L engine oil, he said only those old engine fill with less than 4L. Dunno he tipu me or not.  vmad.gif

At 1st, still thinking to bring back the remaining engine oil, keep the stock and combine it become another 4L  drool.gif

Btw, your SC allow you all to bring you own engine oil?? My SC said NO WAY.must use theirs.

I am using Nokie 5800 too, tomorrow gonna fit the vehicle suction mount...

QUOTE(onlyforthecars @ Oct 5 2009, 10:29 AM)
Hey guys, last few days my 1.x years old persona started giving out weird screeching sounds from the front wheel area...this is different from the knocking sound from the front wheel that is so famous in the persona when going over bumps. This sound is a screeching sound and it happens even when travelling on a perfectly smooth road. however, the sound seems to be quite random. When i'm driving, 50% of the time i can hear the sound and the other 50% the car is normal.

Anyone ever encountered the same problem? My car is in the SC now being troubleshooted..hope they find the problem lol. Thanks abunch for your input.

Update: The SC says that my brake pads are worn out..need to replace..the options are
ORI set : bosch - RM 350 (too exp)
Locus (not sure of name) : RM 140, never heard of it before, any input?
Mintye : RM 100 but not goin to go for this as it has bad reviews.

So i told him that i want to buy my own pads and let him install. He says service charge is RM 50. Is this reasonable?
Btw, i'm looking to buy a Rapid Stop pair. Do you know where i can get a pair of this quick? does ENEOS@ 1 utama carry this brand? And may i know the estimated price for RS pads? Thank you.
*
It is Lucas smile.gif DON, Lucas all also not bad..acceptable quality. If i had the money, i would go for EBC..

Screeching sound? Is it the brake pad wear indicator(metal) squeek..?

Yeah i just went over to the SC during lunch time and confirmed it. It's Lucas. But what does DON mean? Is it the pad model? How much for a EBC pad? my budget is max RM 150 wor. Also, may i ask where to buy those brake pads? such as RS, Bendix, EBC? preferably within PJ area. Does ENEOS @ 1 Utama carry those brands? Thanks in advance...
*
Arr.i am from Pg..no idea for southern region market sad.gif You can go to spare parts shop to look for it...
DON is a brand. It is a reputable and good brand but i don't see it anymore?? i think they stop their own brand and oem for other makers?

BENDIX..either Metal King titanium or CT General titanium stripe..cost around rm120 for front.

RS - You can search at garage sales-automotive forum..

EBC Black stuff..around rm180..
EBC Green stuff...rm400 smile.gif this is good stuff.. smile.gif

FeRoDo ZeRo - around rm110. Abit noisy..

well, probably becoz it's 100% town driving.
Now i using Caltex ron95. Pumped rm70, and my distance travelled so far is 450km. still haven't empty yet. reckon can go another 20km i guess. but i'm driving LDP highway most of the time.

*
Yeah, true true. Yesterday, driving 90 km in penang island , pusing here and there..more than one bar fuel gone already! How i drive? Revv less than 2.4k rpm, gear change at 2k rpm or lower..FC still 8.5L/100km ! cry.gif Bear in mind, this is Sunday pleasure drive with less traffic..
Tyre inflate to 33psi front, 32psi rear...

I just figure out CAMPRO, the moment you start the engine, just drive it...Idling and stuck in slow traffic, good luck then..
