funny how a lot ppl seem to get info that DX000 series got build in AF motor

D3000 body about RM1.7k,
18-105 around RM1.2k
so maybe u can get RM2.8-3k

what grip do u mean?
if u mean body grip, both r similar in body size, the grip sure not much difference

well, it depends on what functions n flash power u nid
Metz 48 is similar to SB600 in specs, but cheaper than SB600, but the quality is competitive to SB600
Di866 however is high power flash like SB900 at the price close to SB600 n Metz48
quality n functions wise, Metz & Nikon r better
but if want powerful flash on par with SB900, get Di866
Jz my opinion

i think u dun quite nid 18-200, cos it is an indoor event n u'll be shooting portraits n group pics, hardly nid to zoom
unless u nid to zoom up to the stage la if there is 1...

35 1.8 will be my choice, but if take group pics u nid step back a few steps la
18-55 is more flexible, can zoom in or take group pics easily
but 35 1.8 pics output r nicer

btw, u better be sure about jumping to Nikon, Nikon AF-S lenses costs lots of bombs...

can still use big aperture if dun have external flash n dun wan use high ISO

50mm 1.8 banyak cheap lor, with D90 u can autofocus somemore
i nid buy the AF-S 50mm leh, price can buy 4x50mm 1.8 lor

cos D5000 no build in wireless flash commander

ya, without motor AF-D 50mm f/1.4 about RM1000

AF-D 50mm f/1.8

AF-S is with build-in motor

AF-D is auto focus capable using in camera body motor

pls check 1st page post for technical terms meanings

around RM200 for Phottix or YXTM brand
Meike brand quality feels better, maybe more expensive by RM200+

*in case your fren dun know, D40 only got 3rd party brand battery grip

u left out the top LCD screen

i heard someone got his SB600 at RM750 from Photo Selangor
but dun expect to get that price immediately, must nego a lot

jz the faulty 1st batch which all need to be send back for servicing
other than that it is good camera n so far no more problems

many still looking for D300 cos it is cheaper than D300s...

not saying SB600 cant CLS
is u cant CLS using SB600 with D40/D40x/D60/D3000/D5000
must use SU-800/SB-800/SB-900 as commander only u can CLS using SB600
unless u count off camera flash is CLS oso then use off-camera flash cord trigger or wireless flash trigger can oso

both got pros n cons
functions n power Di866 exceeded SB600
but reliabality n quality SB600 wins
n currently Di866 got some software issues which may be fix with future software upgrade
u can ask raptorclans about its performance who owns D5000 n recently jz purchased Di866

ppl compare Di866 with SB-600 is becos of the similar price range
most know that of cos Di866 is similar to a cheaper SB900
but the problem is Di866 is a 3rd party brand
thats y they ask Di866 or SB600 is better

in this forum section u nid to upload your pics to image hosting site such as Flickr, Photobucket, Imageshack or others
then copy the image link from there n paste in your post, the image will appear
