Hi all,

total newbie here in ICE and requesting some recommendations for a decent ICE setup with around rm1k(can stretch, but prefer not to) budget. after chatting with a friend to get a basic idea, in addition to browsing a little on the stickied threads over this forum, i guess ill just go with HU + speakers, and ditching amp/sub, considering my budget constraints anyways.

what do you you guys recommend?

so far i have no idea on the speakers, and as for HU, i think this one http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Pro...ers/DEH-P3100UB looks ok. for my HU i just require USB input that can play mp3 and can shuffle, basic enough right? XD
i kid you not that the rm20+ usb -> radio tuner doesnt have shuffle and its sad to get the entire 100-200 songs track listing memorized :/

comments/feedbacks/recommendations are highly appreciated, thanks ^^

ive posted this on the recommendation thread but the response is basically 0 so trying out my luck on a new thread instead sad.gif

HU - Kenwood or Pioneer

actually with budget RM 1k maybe you can get cap ayam brand...but the sound you get is good...dont worry...
just go to HF Audio at bandar baru bangi...he can help you...but maybe you have to add around 100 to 200 coz with the type of HU you want is cost around rm 400 - 500 for kenwood..so balance around 500 - 600...somponent set speaker rm 200 + 6x9 inch speaker...anyway i can get some info from him for you with ur budget

u say dont go for cap ayam, then u recommend him cap ayam stuff....

quazacolt u got the basic idea already, buy HU and speakers first, only thing is your budget too low. if 1500 would be nice

HU around 700-800 (pioneer, alpine, eclipse, etc)
front component set around 700-800 (focal, dls, morel, hertz, rainbow, etc)

since my car is like 10ish years old, i just dont feel like pouring too much money on it until i can get a new one.

for HU what do you think of the one im linking?
also what component speakers would you recommend for the balance of the budget (rm500+) after the HU?
should i go for those mid bass rear speakers thingies? or just stick to basic component set?

concentrate on front comp set and just ignore rear as it affects ur soundstaging. most people just ignore the rear.

My Webpagehttp://my.kenwood.com/Car_Entertainment/1DIN_Receivers/KDC-MP543U
this player price rm 500

where do you live bro...yes i know many people dont know the shop that i recommend to you...since you thinking not to spend much money to your car than better go cap ayam brand ....but if you want to install good speaker + amp + subwoofer better save your money 1st....right now get HU 1st...saved ur money for another time for upgrade... icon_rolleyes.gif

Don't buy cap ayam, it will just satisfy you a short while only, then later you will regret.
Now your point is budget for RM1000, and dont want to put too advance audio into your 10ish years old car.
HU: RM600 (Pioneer/Kenwood/JVC)
Component speaker: RM400++ (Boschmann,Epsilon, Kenwood)
AMP: later
cable: later

nazri: funny how you promo. like got shaaaaaaaare only.

TS: pioneer better than kenwood. rm650 can get decent (non chicken chop) components. diamond audio or focal access at Eneos, BU. thats all you need for now, HU + comps + try get installation free (use stock cable). amp later.........

YO TS... biggrin.gif

imo i think its still ok la to spend a fortune(decent value for money product) on ur 10 year old car...and try to keep away from chap ayam..

when u buy a new car..d item still can b transfer for ur new ride...so instead of have a decent sound outcome later..why not now?..believe me..good sound system can bring enjoyment in ur driving..hehehe

but..in ur case..no soundprofing lah..it will be a waste bcause its untransferable..

fyi..im driving 14 year old car...
