Btw, cheapest I heard is RM300 for 50mm F1.8 (Canon Malaysia, 3 years warranty).
Cheapest I heard for the Speedlite 580EXII is RM1.45k.

between the speedlite keep fail to register at canon website.. said that serial not valid.... dono why...

If the Speedlite fails to register, you better send it back to shop and ask them to register. If not mistaken, Speedlite got 15 months warranty (12 + 3)...

bryanyeo, you bought the exact same things as me but I bought a BG-E5 on top of the 500D Kit + 55-250 IS.

Went out to Georgetown today to do some street photography. Then my hand pain coz no BG while using 70-200 f2.8L IS. So went shopping for a BG as I heard things r much cheaper in Penang.

So I bought myself a PG-E6. No more hand pain.






Then my hand not only pain but itchy too. So bought 2 more items. An optical trigger n flash stand so I can use my 270EX as a wireless slave.






Here's my new wireless Canon 270EX.

So Uncle Ian, will you still be getting the original BG for your 5D MkII from Canon after purchasing the 3rd-party one from Phottix?

I really dont know. I gave it a good thrashing yesterday including walking in the rain n continued taking pics in the rain too. Seems ok. It's been raining every night here in Penang so I'll be using the camera in the rain a lot. If it survives this trip, I may just continue using it.




Cost 4 goreng pisang only. In KL it costs 5 goreng pisang.




The range is lovely on a FF cam. All the street ppl were very nice n cooperative too when they saw the monster, all look over n smile. Hehehe. Some of the ppl even shouted out "lights, camera, action!".
