QUOTE(168257061 @ Nov 11 2009, 06:49 PM) ZF is a Zeiss Designation lah.Leica uses the designation of M/R/ER or the -vid, -lux, -cron suffixes. Added on November 11, 2009, 6:58 pm QUOTE(yrh0413 @ Nov 11 2009, 06:50 PM) Believe it or not it's actually easier due to the shorter flange distance, the need for a longer exit pupil is no longer there. It's just that RF users have generally gravitated towards portrait and street photography, so there's really no market for these beasts. The TeleSuperAchromat if adapted to 35mm size does have a near F/1 aperture. Plus if Leica can make the 0.95 F Noctilux, it doesn't seem that far fetched. This post has been edited by empire23: Nov 11 2009, 06:58 PM |

QUOTE(yrh0413 @ Nov 11 2009, 06:50 PM) it is not impossible to make it for RF...it's juz doesnt make sense... even with a 135mm u can hardly get a sharp image.... let alone 200mm at f2! this is due to the viewfinder.... it doesnt magnify according to the lense used... u might say u can add external VF... think again...for wide angles...u can do hyperfocal... for teles....if u hyperfocal...u r F*ed la basically... btw if leica does come out with that lense it will be called Summicron 200 ASPH. hmm... i read somewhere that it is impossible to make telephoto lens for rangefinders; have to dig up the source though.
ah found it, I misinteprete the following quote though: "Rangefinder cameras work well with lenses up to 135mm. After that, the only way to use them is with stupid Visoflex and reflex attachments, which turns them into SLRs. " from http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/rangefinder-vs-slr.htm This post has been edited by yrh0413: Nov 11 2009, 07:54 PM |

QUOTE(yrh0413 @ Nov 11 2009, 07:51 PM) hmm... i read somewhere that it is impossible to make telephoto lens for rangefinders; have to dig up the source though. but RF....is wayyyyyyyyy superior in the wideangle part! ah found it, I misinteprete the following quote though: "Rangefinder cameras work well with lenses up to 135mm. " from http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/rangefinder-vs-slr.htm Added on November 11, 2009, 7:59 pmwith the visoflex...the main advantage of a rangefinder is eliminated! it becomes bulky...ugly...and yeah ugly... visoflex is actually to aid focusing and thats all.... bcoz conventional frame lines starts only from 28-135. beyond that...u need a VF with above 1.0x magnification... =) even 1.0x VF is super rare...let alone above 1.0x...
