how to check what program is running in the background?  keep pressing home button only show u the recently use program and not the running program, how er?

1.6 hasn't been ported to HTC Hero, we are lacking roms now also because we don't have the kernal release for it yet. I am using the normal Android market, EU phones get the normal market only certain countries like us get the SlideME market i think. If you want the normal market you have to root your hp.

What kernal and what is you ROM number if the kernal hasn't been patched you can easily root it with the one click method if not the long guide is out front.

Yes, it's bit tight and u need to try other mini USB cable, i worry will spoil it..  found HTC ExtUSB cable at lowyat, cost RM30 plus...quite pricy..

i have done the  modaco rom.
then i tried to connect to the wifi. it seems pretty good that it connects to the wifi and the signal is ok but i cant access the internet. then i ticked at the mobile network and still cant get connected.

www.google.com is not available..

are there any settings to do?

i've updated the with the latest radio at the site.. its still not working...

have you guys try PapaGo X5 on your Hero? i found that while im on MCR 2.8 my GPS wont get a fix to satellite. but after revert back to MCR 2.7 my GPS work normally and satellite fix took 5sec. any advise?

because with MCR 2.7 SD damage message will appear everytime i unplug the connection. kindda annoyed has switch off and on the phone just to get rid of the SD Error message.

is htc leo and htc hero the same phone?

wow, 3 seconds is fast. my samsung s60 takes around 3-10 if from hot fix.

From Cold fix, it takes anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes.

Is this considered AGPS? in the sense of S60/WinMo phones? Where it uses data line to obtain some data from cell towers.

Bonanno, I dont get it with your instruction No. 6. Where should I select HTTP (in my HERO) and enter to find proxy address and proxy port?
As for no. 7, could you please give detail instruction on how to find MMS settings (in my HERO) in order to select server profilew? I've been using HERO for 2 and half months and cannot send MMS after rooting....

Wonder that Hero not able video call ya???i cant found the video call option...

That's it. I'm fed up with the iPhone already. Sure it provides rich user experience but when the phone hardware leave a lot to be desired, that counts for nothing. My original iPhone got a permanent stuck pixel-like lines on the screen and now my 3GS just wouldn't turn on for some reasons only God knows.

I've always had an eye on the Hero and I guess there's no better time to switch over. Once I get the iPhone fixed/replaced I'll be putting it up on Garage Sales first thing.

I've got several questions I hope you gentlemen here can help to answer:

1. I know the Hero comes with Android 1.5 out of the box and the 2.0 is to be released soon. Will we see Hero comes with 2.0 out of the box soon? If yes, I might wanna hold on to my purchase until then.

2. Is there any official way to flash the firmware ala the iPhone style via the iTunes.  UPDATE: Think I just came across LEVIATHAN's tutorial on how to flash the phone, but I'm still interested to know if there is an official channel to do it. Thanks!

3. Where can i get more information about the OS, customization, errrhmmphh *hacking*, etc.

4. How good is the Android market now in terms of number of applications and the quality of the apps. Let me know what you think...

Hi guys, my GPS may have a problem.

However, I think my AGPS works. Using these settings, I got my location in Google Maps within a few seconds.
Use wireless networks -> On
Enable GPS satellites -> Off

But if I try to use GPS only, I couldn't get a lock on despite several minutes. I had a clear view of the sky, although there were buildings around me.
Use wireless networks -> Off
Enable GPS satellites -> On

How long did it take for you to get the 1st time lock on using GPS only?
