the problem with doing this by our own is to get everyone equal chance to cook by having enough utensils and cooking places.

It is not easy to incorporate many people to cook at one time, with an instructor to teach and the rest to learn. That's the reason I normally look for workshops and events as they normally will provide all these. smile.gif

Back in uni I've arranged and taught some cooking classes before too, albeit we only did some pretty amateurish cooking, but I know it is not easy to arrange for something like this.

I've been looking for classes like that as well and I came across Sugarcraft Academy. They are offering part time baking courses. Check out www.sugarcraft.edu.my. I am planning to take up their part time course in Jan. They are having an open day as well on 21st and 22nd Nov. Might drop by before enrolling tongue.gif

There is one baking ingreddients shop here in Bandar Mahkota Cheras that organises classes for various cakes, buns breads etc. It's not expensive either sometimes only RM60 for certain cakes. I will check their contact nos. and post it later when I go out there.

Sugarcraft is Expensive, very expensive. They charge RM13,000 for a six month's course and payable in only one month, meaning 2 payments. They give you theory for 3 months and then dump you in one of their affiliated hotels or outlets for another 3 months for practical training.

I went to their academy that day, their staff gave me the wrong date for open day...aiks! It was suppose to be the week before. vmad.gif But decided not to join as the work place is small and packed, and they are charging high price for their fees? Hmm... The place was not as expected though.

M still looking for good part time cooking class sad.gif Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can try this: http://bakingproject.com/cake-deco-classes/

She does one-day classes from home, for beginners with little or no experience. Starts from RM190 I think.
