right issue = need to raise money, kutip from shareholders

But for KLCI, few times, the stock go up.

Genting SP or Genting in KLCI. Anyway for both case, just to mark up the price for Genting SP to make the right issue looks delicious, and then Genting in KLCI goreng because ppl thought can earn a lot from Genting SP. Just my view though

Once announced (right issue), generally stock goes down, as right issue means your financial is weak, cashflow is weak, and existing shareholders need to fork out extra money, except those right issue money need to acquisition and expansion purposes especially venture into some very profitable business one.

MM or some underwriting investment houses sometimes will push up the stock price so that there is more difference between existing share price with right issue price so that right issue will be taken up fully. Also with higher share price means you can issue at higher right issue price (as right issue price generally based on lastest or previously market average price then discount a bit).

So there are parties wish to see the share price higher for their benefit.

hello guys was checking out on this GOPENG..seems pass few days been moving up. i check their background, seems is controlled by YTLcement. So if i were to buy this counter, indirectly i m buying YTLcement?..coz seems the PE is kinda low and performance for the pass few years look constant.

Previously Genting Malaysia took the big pie from Malaysia and Singapore market, but later on they have to divide the pie into 3 portion, Genting Malaysia, Genting Singapore and Marina Bay Sands...

Although overall Genting still can take 2/3 of the pie but the operating cost for Genting will be increase as well...
