High skill exercises include the Full Clean, Full Snatch, High Pull From the Floor, and Overhead Squat.

Moderate skill exercises include the Hang Clean, Hang Snatch, High Pull From the Hang, Power Clean, Power Snatch, Push Press, Deadlift, and Front Squat.

Low skill exercises include the Bent-over Row, Overhead Press, Lunge Variations, Back Squat, and Dumbbell Squat.

back squat is low skill exercise, this complexes indeed sounds brutal. I think if i m going to do it,non of the high skill exercise i can perform in my gym, else i gona get kick out for throwing the weight :S

Don't think you'd be able to use weight so heavy that you need to dump them in complexes. blink.gif

It did mention about half of a 10 or 20 RM in the example he suggested.

Technically the power clean is design to trow the weight to the floor after you finish the movement. imagine if you clean heavy how are you going to lower it gently? lol?

and for the complex excercise, let's say you can squat 80kg easily, but you can only overhead press 40kg, still you have to use the weight you can handle for the overhead press. right? advise advise hmm.gif
*
Probably won't be using a weight so heavy that you'll need to throw them. If you're using a weight you can OH press, then should be no problem to hold on to them for about 10 reps.

Try using those complexes design by other coaches and see first. Then can start designing your own.
Even stuff like Javorek's dumbbell complex #1 & #2 are tough, even without heavy weights. Half of the exercises are explosive.

If you want to increase the intensity (and the puke level) of the complex, add in explosive/power movements. Swings, snatches, squat jumps (with or without weights), burpees. E.g. Ross's Magic 50. I'll never call a 10kg dumbbell 'light weight' again, after I lie on the floor panting like crazy.

already done Magic 50 few times, with 15kg snatch and 10kg swing. Nice! but not reach the puke level yet. maybe shorten the rest time will reach that lol.

I think you could easily use way heavier weights.
15kg is sap-sap-sui for you lah. thumbup.gif

I read from an article just now:
Cooking an egg will help us digest the protein better. Thus: 90+ percent of the proteins are digested and absorped.

Raw eggs, however, we only get to digest around 50% of it.

you guys have got to check out this guy doing push ups & hanging leg raises. With his body weight, this guy is crazy!

http://rosstraining.com/blog/2009/12/28/in...he-heavyweights

Note especially that he did L pull ups.
This sh!t is tough. Because the lats loses leverage when the glutes are stretched. Combined with his body weight... FUYOH!!!

AWESOME if you can do 20 pull ups.

AAAWWWWWWWESOME when you can do 1 arm pull ups.

I can do neither.
Therefore I'm not awesome.

just follow these
http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_article...nster_shoulders

If you can bench with the Oly bar for 8-10 reps, I suggest adding the weight progressively.

DB bench is sometimes easier on the shoulder as we vary the angle freely as opposed to the pressing the barbell (a long rigid stick) with both hands

Regardless, you are still not awesome if you can't pullup at all.

Speaking of YTWL, you guys really have got to check out Tumminello's guide on YTWL.
He modded it and called it LYTP.

Just started the Armstrong routine.
It says 20 pullups in 6-8 weeks woh. See how it goes. =D

I want lats so wide, I can glide in the air when I jump! X^D

I guess the best way to add more pull ups is to add weights. The stronger you are, the more pull ups you can do.

The Armstrong routine is a bit funny.
I did 30 set of 3 for today's training set. LOL!

How's that for greasing the groove? brows.gif

GTG stopped working after a while. I guess I need to get stronger overall & better conditioned to increase pull up numbers.
Just merely greasing the groove will only get to about 12-13 pull ups for me.

i have a question

i alway seem to not really have enuff strength to do weight training..

i only can do like 10 time in a row, not even 15times before i am out of strength, then i need to rest awhile before i do again..

is this because of my meal? i need to consume more protein before doing?

i wanna start stronglifts 5x5 but theres just no way i can do the chin up/pull ups part of it.

i could do it with the negative pull up machine (it's an assistance machine, not a negative pull up) but the stronglifts ebook says that its a huge no-no.

but since i have no choice would the whole programme be pointless by going ahead and using the machine?

user posted image <-- Not like this. Feet should be pointing up, head looking up.

The assisted pull up machine Fitness First uses.

Don't stand on the assisted pull up machine.
Kneel with the knees (and the feet off the ground) on the machine. Meaning only the knee touches the support, the shins, toes and feet is pointing upwards into the sky.
And look up at the ceiling above your head. (Imagine theres a piece of nice Belgian chocolate bar hanging from the ceiling, and then you to pull up and literally take a bite with your mouth). <--- seriously, it makes pull ups easier this way.

Then EXPLODE up! Don't just pull, EXPLODE!

Also do the 'negative pull ups' without assistance.

And do a bit of heavy pull downs (lat machine) too. I know it doesn't carry over (to pull ups). But since you're doing negative pull ups at the same time, the strength gained from it can be useful.

Well, I'm not particularly fond of the pulldowns anyway.
But if it can help, there's it's all good to go!

P.S. where did you get your Assess & Correct?

so ur saying that i can use the machine as long as i use the method you mentioned and supplement it with negatives?
Errr, you got it backwards: negative pull ups should be the main exercise. To supplement it with a bit of pull downs.

I guessing perhaps 2x5 or 3x3 of heavy pull downs to build some strength? This is just an option. Lots of people have managed to progress well with frequent negatives.

Oh, I managed to read somewhere on the net that some dude did this for his negative pull ups:
3 set x 3 reps. Each rep, he jumps up & hangs on the top for as long as possible, then comes down slowly. You might wanna try it out.

I'm going to get my sister to use this method out as well. See how well it works for her. tongue.gif

"I recently got a fellow friend to perform pullups ( he was really out of shaped prior to this)

Progression I used ( those that can't perform pullups for nuts)

Everyone is strongest at the eccentric portion (lowering portion) Climb, get help from a training partner, or jump up to a static hold with your forehead to the bar for a count of two. Then, slowly lower the body until your arms are locked out at the fully extended position. Then, put your feet down and repeat the process,

Start with 3 sets of two. Every 2-3 days , add 1 extra set until it accumulates to 10 sets of 2 = 20 deceleration pullups. 1 month later, he grab the pullup bar and started tugging miraculously. magical. "

guide to your first set of pullupS.

I got my assess and correct from sharing and caring with like minded individuals.

Yeah, I remember that post. Negatives is the best way.
But since there's the pull down machine available, might as well do some of it to get the lats stronger. =)

P.S. Can I share and care with you too? drool.gif

Should be ok unless you're deep frying it for long periods of time. I'm assuming that you're just using small amounts when roasting or stir frying it?
I wouldn't use EVO though. Probably just virgin or refined olive oil.

And I believe pressed palm oil is a good oil too. Wonder why no one talks about it.

Here's how 4Rings uses his EVO oil, refined olive oil, coconut oil, red palm oil. Check out this post of his:

But..............Shy la.......Mostly the class is full of women....1 or 2 mens only there blush.gif  blush.gif

The aunties there will put you to shame! I tried Bodypump a loooong time ago, and I could barely keep up with them using the same weights as they are.

Many women in Bodypump classes are pretty well conditioned, even if they may not have the slimmest body with low bodyfat.
