if not when you work u will be very miserable..

Observations:

It does kinda explain the number of posts we get here asking about studying medicine in China. There are people who genuinely consider China as a destination for medical education.

As if there aren't enough universities on the Medical Act and the second schedule of the MMC list.
This is why I can no longer read Chinese vernacular papers. I can tell you, there is going to be some Cheena "doctor" who will be brandishing their arms and trying to justify their choice of education as "but the newspaper said so!". Somehow the Chinese educated seem to take their vernacular papers as the gospel truth.

But on a more serious note, does any doctor know of any China medical graduate, practicing in Malaysia, be it public or private?

On a more personal note, as someone who has ancestors in my family history deported to China as Communists during the Communist insurgency, I find it more than a little amusing that MCA is leading a delegation to meet and praise the Youth Communist League.

erm....graduate in TCM then i know la...one 'doctor' in ss2... laugh.gif

western doctor then never hear before...

My most sincere salutations to everyone.

Can i know what are the differences between "MD" and "MBBS" ?

Well im a future medical student . Currently doing my foundation in science.

My agent has opened me to bangladesh (mbbs) indon (md ) and russia .

I dont think i'll be going to russia. My cousins there are suffering to learn their language.

Im curious , are there any graduates from bangladesh? (Im sorry if this sounds dumb , but its my first time hearing about b'desh) brows.gif

Thanks in advance smile.gif
*
its the same..

MBBS is uk system while MD is usa system...

and the 3 countries that u mentioned.......i think i will leave the question to the sifus here sweat.gif

cygoh9 - Is it the one which MS Mohamad wrote? Well im still up for medic smile.gif

zstan - Yes im aware of the difference in that term. Is there more towards it. I rang up the mmc today. Bdesh indon and russia . All three are listed so hence i can practice medicine here without sitting for the exam. Apparently there are a lot of graduates from bdesh and (usu-indon) thats what the dr from the mmc department told me.
*
no there's nothing. with MD/MBBS..u can work anywhere in malaysia as long the degree recognised from MMC...if there's still places when u graduate la..... laugh.gif

Pharmacy is a good choice, you know.. thumbup.gif I've heard that one of my cousin is hired by GSK and his pay is VERY high... thumbup.gif But I don't know the situation now... Looks like everyone is into life sciences nowadays... brows.gif

By the way, is there a difference between pharmacy and pharmacology? Read wiki and:

Pharmacology (from Greek  φάρμακον, pharmakon, "drug"; and -λογία, -logia) is the study of drug action.

Pharmacy (from the Greek φάρμακον 'pharmakon' = drug) is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences, and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs.

Not so much difference eh? hmm.gif Didn't they study just about the same thing?

high pay i dunno la..but at least its a stable job....n very much less stressful if u open ur own shop..compared to a doctor..

pharmacology is a branch under pharmacy..where u study the drug action and their correlation...how one drug affects another if 2 taken at a same time..etc...

..same concept like when u study medic..u study..erm...the heart..then u only wan specialise in heart..then u become cardiologist...

if pharm..if u wan specialise in pharmacology(just study the drug action) then u become pharmacologist lor..

usually u need to be a pharmacy before u can specialise..

but now some uni offer short cuts and open a course just for that particular area of interest..

eg..Pharmaceutical science by some uni in malaysia smile.gif

Hi everyone, long time didnt post here. I am going to be a 3rd year medical student at UCSI Terengganu Campus. Starting my clinicals there. Any tips for me?

BTW during the year 2 finals, a lot of people failed, mostly ex-Indonesia students, not that I am saying anything but only 2 out of 13 passed if I remember correctly. Then after a resit, 8 more passed.

hmmmm...that bad eh? hmm.gif

Anyone know about which university recognized by Singapore (SMC). Is Monash or Newcastle University recognized because of the twinning?

I only know IMU-PMS is recognized. Any other?
P.S: if you remember me, im from STPM 2008. Serving NS is like throwing your life into the drain...
*
i served NS and my life is not in the drain thank u very much.

only UM & UKM are recognised by SMC strictly speaking.

there are plenty of sporeans who are doing medicine at imu-pms...........about 4-6 per batch.......it's a cheaper way to a sma recognised degree, and also a back door for some who failed to get direct entry into the respective unis..........

Hehe. Yes, I'm actually a Singaporean studying in Malaysia from kindergarten. But sadly 2 years plus suffering (physical training etc.) really make me feel sad not being a Malaysian.Since I only scored 3.5 CGPA, I thought I might get in Monash or Newcastle. Anyone know the recent cut-off point?

I'm eligible for next year intake. I canceling out IMU since I think I'm not good enough.

P.S: wgy589, nice being a Singaporean female huh tongue.gif
*
and i thought singaporean girls like guys who completed NS? laugh.gif

ok back to topic.

shocking.gif the entry requirements for IMU is much lower than Monash la. IINM, IMU is BBB whereas Monash requires AAA. u should be cancelling monash instead of IMU.
