clean the contact points in ur lens. usually this happens with the kit lens as they have plastic mounts.

but personally, I have never encountered such problems before with all the kit lens I have used.
I only have to say that it is user fault whereby the user didn't take good care while changing/mounting lens.

my frenz camera did encounter this problem. i jz open n clean both contact... this happen as he always changing lense.. smile.gif

Happened to me a few days ago, on/off also same, unplug battery also same. Then decided to release and reattach the lens ok already. Phew, make me panic only sweat.gif

Haha. But it is very troublesome of you are covering an event and the problem happens. Anyhow, from what I read in other forums before, the problem only happens with plastic mount kit lens and very rare to happen on metal mount lens.
