Doesn't seem like there will be a weekend deal for GOG this week.
There's a countdown in their main page. Probably going to release Master of Orion series. |

QUOTE(kianweic @ Apr 20 2010, 09:46 PM) GOG now offers the following games: I really spent some zomgwtfbbq number of hours on Master of Orion 2, it's damn old but the mechanisms are really solid and I consider it my point of reference for any 4X game.1. Outcast 2. Master of Orion 1 and Master of Orion 2 The above games are being sold at USD4.99. Those who missed out on Master of Orion series, go get it now. Gameplay would be quite different between the races (I loved the Psy-women or the Super-tech ones, you could also customize your's by choosing handicap/bonus), you have lots of random events happening (mining incident/discovery, space monsters, pirates etc.), can design your own ships (and at the end you some really monster weapons), AI was good enough to be a challenge easily. Quite a lot of micromanagement though which can become a little chore at the end when you have a big empire (I personally had a core of my planets I took good care of then just destroyed the enemies planets like in Star Wars, no chance they can re-colonize behind me) |

Just bought Empire Earth 1 from them, 6 bucks for the game and xpac, works nicely on my Vista 64.
GoG is good when you don't want hassle to find workarounds for newer OS and widescreen stuff. Heard so much about how Empire Earth 1 was a great game I couldnt resist |

Ohmigosh. I just stumbled onto this thread! One of the most awesome finds that I've ever seen for a gaming nerd like me. B-b-but... Why no planescape torment! T_T
Added on April 27, 2010, 6:37 pmMeanwhile. I am thinking about getting Arcanum (Played a very buggy version last time) and Fallout 2. For those who have never heard of Arcanum, it's a game like fallout, but you can choose from 7 schools of Magic OR 7 schools of TECHNOLOGY. It's pretty awesome when you actually have the choice of being however you want, it's a good twist on the classic D&D type rules. EDIT: Erm, when they say compatible with Vista(64Bit), does it mean it should work for Win7(64bit) too? Added on April 27, 2010, 6:55 pmAdded on some more: I see loads of amazing games on there. Might and Magic 6 Pack. Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2. Fallout and Fallout 2. King's Quest 4+5+6. Myst Psychonauts Syberia 1+2 Painkiller Myst With me being raised on Point and Click games. I am kind of sad seeing that there are no LucasArts games there. I would really want to be able to play Day of the Tentacle (Dunno where to find), Grim Fandango (Not compatible even with Win 2k, I actually have the original disc.), As well as the original Monkey Island series (Not a big fan of the new 3D ones.) and lastly, FULL THROTTLE YEAH! Loved that game. XD Meanwhile. "I have no mouth but I must scream." would make an interesting game to be included, if you don't know what that is. click here This post has been edited by Yuki Ijuin: Apr 27 2010, 07:01 PM |
