Amazing.. despite the device is not going to make way to asia region, there is still much to talk about. Anyhow, I do have sympathy towards the poor chump. All right, time to iron some questions.

1.) No, N900 is not locked. Genuine n900 can work on any network. Nokia had announce they have no intention on limiting the device on proprietary networks.

2.) No, As of time, Nokia does not have any plan to distribute or sell n900 to our region. & No, there is no asia firmware what soever. Nokia only distributes 1 firmware version to fit all continent.

3.) Device runs solely on OS. If you plan to include multiple lingual language, pray that maemo team would include the files under the repository.

4.) Seller's 18 months warranty is not covered under genuine nokia warranty. In case the vendor decides to bail out, you're stucked with brick device. Correct me if I'm wrong, unless Nokia can verify the unit is valid then I shall take back my words.

5.) Yeah, n900 looks impressive. Honestly, NO. If you can get your hands on the pre-production unit, then yes. Post production units were a big disappointment. Just compare the browser experience & performance. You will see the production unit is much pathetic with tonnes of unrenderred grids when flicked browse.

6.) I've been a vivid follower for n900 & I can tell you the picture posted is from previous nokia roadshow in US. You can dig back some old youtube videos to confirm.

7.) This device will need to communicate with OVI store. Should the unit be invalid or tagged as stolen goods, you might have issue on updating or not being able to enjoy the free download service.

8.) Yes, you can manually configure the phone to access 3g or restrict. Even on 3g mode, once open wifi is available/detected, the device will immediately divert all internet packets via wifi. The phone is smart in managing your internet connection. In addition on 3g, Everytime it will seek permission from user to allow internet connection. Yes any request made from softwares or widget will need your approval before being able to connect to the internet. Thus, you have control on what to allow and what not to.

9.) To me the videa fps is a big disappointment. 25fps? come one... videos would jerk on fast moving objects.

10.) Like I'd mentioned early, phone is not for those with faint heart. Yes basic functionality is adequate, but as time goes by, some configuration would require some command language. Referring to X terminal. This is good for geeks.

This is definitely one powerful device. But the software support is very much a limited for now. There are other devices worth mentioned however. If I ever purchase this phone, my reasoning would be on the massive storage. I like the huge storage capacity as well as the available expansion slots. Capable to play music as well as potential to run lossless codec.

great info. thumbs up!

no doubt n900 have a lot of weakness. but we cant denine that it is a revolution pioneer of modern cell phone. this device is gonna make a defination changes of 'mobile phone'.

moreover, no cell phone shud be upgraded to the max in every tech. since every user have different taste and different preferrence.

therefore, i'm still wanted to hunt n900. but maybe in a few months time. haha

Anyhow, it would be surprising should he suddenly being able to spud up the real device.

Yes, it's trustworthy, but they only courier to UK region. Unless you have friends there to divert the parcel to malaysia. Same applies to other sites. E.g Amazon.

precisely. Unless you're dead certain this device is worth investing, My suggest is, better purchase on something which is norm in the market. I doubt our local technician can fix this gizmo.
