For this round, I will be there, cant guarantee how long can this event thing last since my job responsibility is getting heaview day by day. But I have booked the space for 6 months (every first Sunday of the month), so come over if you still want to try smile.gif.

Good to hear Chess_Gal,

Sorry to mention, but due to personal obligations, I won't be visible on the radar much for the entire month of September. Tell you what, the moment I get freed up, I'll try to pay you a surprise visit at the Bazaar. I could use a short "holiday" myself. Looking forward to getting a chance at meeting the owner myself! Haha... good luck with business!

First thing is Halal issue. The head of Leasing mentioned that I should know that all the shareholders inside KLCC are Muslims and although my food is purely chicken, tuna, and veggie but still cannot guarantee all of them are Halal. She said I have to come out with Halal Cert. I have no idea how to apply this Halal Cert. Finding outsourcer who has Halal Cert now. (Muslim brother, is it difficult to apply for this HALAL cert? what's the criteria?)

2nd is, I need "HACCP" cert. She said all of their F&B stalls having this cert. Without this cert, they can simply reject ya proposal.

3rd is, "Your stall image doesn't suit our KLCC style". This is what she replied. I even set up logo, website for brand image but due to the selling way is low cost way, that's why they don't like it. (!@#$%^&* rclxub.gif )

I get humiliated there and people there very LCLY.  cry.gif

But what to do? gotta move on.

(By the way, I still havent give up yet due to the flow in KLCC really superb. But I am working on it alone and I really need capable partners too! Anyone who has high motivation and risk taker may PM me for more details.)

Hey,

I think you should try flea market for starters, I have just completed my very first outdoor event, crowd was okay, but my drink sells! Sold out withn 6 hours and I have to close early since I ran out of pearls & straws.

BUT, i may need to sell my business because I cant be taking leave all the time. I have booth, menu, equipment, list of events (outdoors), supplier contacts, materials, logo & company registration.

Here are my booth & banner.

(Looked damn haggard cause I only slept 4 hours before)

Trust me, this is a good busines if you have the passion for it. It was my 5 months of hard work. But I have to let go of it since my career is taking off. Best to do outdoor/weekends only. I cant, since I am in Singapore.

chess_gal,

You're only selling your stall, or your bubble tea business as a whole? smile.gif

Hi Jordy,

I wil be moving out from my permanent stall in Wisma Cosway, wil be doing outdoor event (flea markets, events, pasar malam).

I have locked in with Sunway Lagoon Club for 6 months and now negotiating to get into the Curve. But the problem is, my mum cant take care for me anymore as she is getting tired of it, my sister will have to study once her break is over and my staff, well you cant just let the staff to run it when the boss is not around.

So, I am force to sell it. It is a good business. It;s a real pity that I am not in Malaysia. But will only sell it to ppl with passion though.

Added on September 8, 2009, 2:38 pmOn a lighter note, I may wish to find a new partner, I have everything from expertise, plans and network, while he/she have to execute when I am not around. Transport, arranging for staff, material procurement.

chess_gal,

I like your passion and straight-forwardness. You could PM me to discuss further regarding partnership. I may be able to get some help smile.gif

It will be very wasteful for you to just sell it.

Hey Jordy,

Sure! I am seriously looking for ppl who can commit on my behalf. Let me sort things out first as I just came back from KL yesterday and have piles of files to look at in office.

TS,

I don't think you can automate your business right from the beginning. When you start a biz, you have to run it for sometime until all your staffs are well-trained and the system in running the biz is up (like McD). otherwise it is not easy to automate without a system. Even ppl who took franchise still have to run the biz for the beginning until biz is stable.

chess_gal,

Interested to hear what you've got to offer. If you don't mind, you can PM me. And the Sunway Lagoon club thing seem interesting, izzit only for f&b?

I agree with zenwell,

Businesses cannot be automated right from the beginning. Even highly touted "turnkey" businesses like MLMs or micro-franchising has some fundamental incubation period. It is an impossibility to assume that a business that can made into a fully automated one from day one.

Even a handover from a readymade, running business takes some time.

I'm in the F&B line previously. Discussions are welcome. As I hardly steps foot into forums, you may email me thefiredragon@hotmail.com
