QUOTE(ADjohn90 @ Aug 26 2009, 11:37 PM) Hi, im looking to start a f&b beverage kiosk selling smtg like pancake which i think might attract ppl (like auntie anne or wraps type but dif) how should i start from here? I have capital 20-30k is that enough to sustain me 6 month rent? Im looking for a semi hotspot anyone knws the price? i have already found the machines to cook, what more do i need? Anyone with similar experience mind sharing? Criticism welcome. ADjohn90, Here's a constructive criticism for your consideration. RM20k - RM30k for 6 months of rental is definitely NOT enough for shopping complexes. The rental for shops are at least RM8k - RM25k, depending on location and size, and usually you will have to pay 2+1 upfront upon signing of tenancy agreement. You will have to fork out additional funds for shop renovation as well. You could consider renting pushcart areas within these shopping complexes though, ranging from RM1,500 - RM6k.

QUOTE(ADjohn90 @ Aug 27 2009, 02:35 PM) Yeah ! ... I am planning to open it like 'Daily Fresh' and '1901 Hotdog' concept .... any ideas ? In that case, you will need your own pushcart because that's more towards franchising. Unless you want to do it yourself, then most of the shopping complexes have standard pushcarts for you to rent. If you're really interested, do contact the management and submit your applications to a few of them. You can reject the rest if you are accepted by one of them. If you're lucky, the waiting list is short. Good luck.

How auntie anne or other franchise does it? ADjohn90, Are you running the business or am I running it? There is NO shortcuts in learning, I believe you're on your own with this.

QUOTE(chess_gal @ Sep 8 2009, 02:07 PM) Hey, I think you should try flea market for starters, I have just completed my very first outdoor event, crowd was okay, but my drink sells! Sold out withn 6 hours and I have to close early since I ran out of pearls & straws. BUT, i may need to sell my business because I cant be taking leave all the time. I have booth, menu, equipment, list of events (outdoors), supplier contacts, materials, logo & company registration. Here are my booth & banner. [attachmentid=1184570] (Looked damn haggard cause I only slept 4 hours before) Trust me, this is a good busines if you have the passion for it. It was my 5 months of hard work. But I have to let go of it since my career is taking off. Best to do outdoor/weekends only. I cant, since I am in Singapore. chess_gal, You're only selling your stall, or your bubble tea business as a whole?

QUOTE(chess_gal @ Sep 8 2009, 02:35 PM) Hi Jordy, I wil be moving out from my permanent stall in Wisma Cosway, wil be doing outdoor event (flea markets, events, pasar malam). I have locked in with Sunway Lagoon Club for 6 months and now negotiating to get into the Curve. But the problem is, my mum cant take care for me anymore as she is getting tired of it, my sister will have to study once her break is over and my staff, well you cant just let the staff to run it when the boss is not around. So, I am force to sell it. It is a good business. It;s a real pity that I am not in Malaysia. But will only sell it to ppl with passion though. Added on September 8, 2009, 2:38 pmOn a lighter note, I may wish to find a new partner, I have everything from expertise, plans and network, while he/she have to execute when I am not around. Transport, arranging for staff, material procurement. chess_gal, I like your passion and straight-forwardness. You could PM me to discuss further regarding partnership. I may be able to get some help It will be very wasteful for you to just sell it.
