Based on the thread above, how exactly does updating the software version and how does the baseband affect your iPhone? I've seen some threads mentioning OS version 3.0, I tried updating mine through iTunes but it says it is up-to-date. It is currently on 2.2.1, I'm a new user, which is obvious from these questions.
