Can someone tell me whether the latest jailbreak for 2.2.1 includes unlock or not? I mean i don't want to get locked forever, so i downloaded the 2.2.1 ipsw file, which means my baseband will be kept at the 2.28 and not 2.30. even if i do so, would my iphone be unlocked? sorry, i'm quite new to this unlocking section.

if you update to 2.2.1, baseband will be upgraded to 2.30 and it will be locked till dev team finds a solution
if u wanna update to 2.2.1 and retain the 2.28 baseband, only a mac can do that by using pwnagetool.

there is nothing much different between 2.2.1 and 2.2, just some minor fix only, and only mac can retain the baseband at 2.28.00. but if your iphone boot loader is 5.08 you can always downgrade your baseband into 2.28.00 if you accidently update or update it by yourself. this is my suggestion( suggestion only ok~). if your bootloader is 5.08 can update it with 2.2.1 firmware, jailbreak it, then install 3G fuzzyband downgrader then downgrade your baseband into 2.28.00 then after that install yellowsn0w and you can use your iphone back. im remind you that you must be on bootloader 5.08 in order to use it. good luck then.. p/s: anyway dont need to open new topic because i think you can post it up at iphone club version 9 or yellowsnow unlock cheers Taka.
