Since Saturday, I couldnt send out any SMS from my IPhone 3G. I could receive SMS. There's nothing wrong with my celcom3g account or my SIM card. I could send out SMS using another handphone (nokia) using the same SIM card. I've tried using the method proposed by frozzbyte, but I was unsuccessful. Serious help needed! Tolong! Thanks.

QUOTE(davidgary73 @ Jul 13 2009, 10:14 AM) Just a suggestion under the circumstances that you're not able to rectify the SMS problem after consulting frozzbyte. Do a Restore and set the iPhone as new. Then sync your contacts and try sending a SMS. Backup before you proceed to restore. david, I picked up this method from http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=1848634Quote "I just tio this exact problem; sms are coming in but I can't reply to any of them, or send out new sms to new receipient.
I suspected the sms.db got permission error, as I restored my iPhone yesterday while some files (including the sms.db) were restored manually.
So I ssh into my iPhone and found the sms.db file (and the ~/Library/SMS/ folder) have Permission set at 644. (Read only)
So I change them to 666. (Read and Write)
Bang!
Problem resolved.
So... obviously the reason I can't send sms was because the db cannot be written to save the to-be-sent sms resulting in the error.
Obviously, and like a bro mentioned, deleting the sms.db file should do the trick too (except your old sms are gone) if you dunno how to change file permissions.
Hope that helps.
I did not have to fiddle with anything else. " endQuote What do you think of this procedure? What is "ssh"? How do I find that sms.db file?

QUOTE(davidgary73 @ Jul 13 2009, 12:17 PM) @Stamp If your iPhone is Jb'ed, then proceed with the solution you found. Refer to this thread on how to SSH: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=22057247The sms.db is located @ var/Mobile/Library/SMS/SMS.db which is in your iPhone directory. If you're on iPhone 3.0, the premission set for sms.db file is 777 or 755. david, ive edited the permission to 777. not working.

QUOTE(davidgary73 @ Jul 14 2009, 10:26 PM) @Stamp You tried setting the permission to 666 as you got from other source or 755? Other than that, the option to deleted the sms.db might help. Ive tried all three numbers, 666, 755 and 777. no luck. also no luck when i deleted the sms.db. I think Im going to pay a visit to low yat plaza to seek help (paid) overthere. i have had enough of tweaking the iphone. * putting up white flag *

QUOTE(davidgary73 @ Jul 14 2009, 10:42 PM) @Stamp Maybe one last thing you can do. Use SBSettings and use the fix user permission option. Atleast the one last thing you can try before you flag the white flag. If not, look for Hanxz to help you troubleshoot @ http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=826183&hlI would trust Hanxz than any of the non iPhone guru's but it's your call mate. I've tried that SBSettings, but still no luck. The only thing that I havent done is to reset the phone, but Im concerned that the phone might not come back to life! I will look for Hanxz'ss help, thanks for the link.
