I know the last I read, they never have the plan of subs, but I wouldn't be surprised if they become greedy and start milking.
I would still prefer to spend money on permanent fashionable cloth than anything.

It has been stated long time ago and so many times it will not have monthly subs.

it has always been that way since guild wars 1... you dont have to worry... though, do expect plenty of expansions coming.. which i think its not a problem..

the only money I spent on GW1 apart from the expansions was the Skill Unlock, because initially I bought GW1 for PVP. When they introduced Heroes it was an extra bonus because all my skill unlocks could be used for them.

Both games offer different playstyles, one is Bioware's awesome (industry best) PVE storyline and established IP whereas the other is dynamic event and RVR.

Obviously I would like both in a game but that would be too much budget, even Blizzard couldn't pull it off. Best to divide your playing time between both games and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Definitely one of the games I won't mind paying for.

i dont own a console so i dont have extra games taking up my spare time

Guild Wars is one of those games you can not play for like 2 months and still come back and pick up where you left off. Plus you don't feel compelled to play cause there ain't no subscription fees nor must-grind-now content. In fact, if they follow GW1 tradition, the most you miss out on are PvE hats.

Can't believe I am playing it again after leaving it un-touch for almost 3 years plus. Still fun to play back, of coz they will be changes to skills over time and need to update some build. But totally agree with the "Best game I ever bought TBH" Only thing is some of my GW buddies kinda stop playing after they got 50/50 for HoM now, sadly, I am just 30/50.

gonna buy it, for sure. it will be great if got Asia server. low ping.
