Oh, yeah RookeiDaddy, now you know where I hear the 30%+10% tax thing lor,  brows.gif
haha... you don't say... cheers.gif
actually, it used to carry 20% import duty, but our gov was kind enough to make it nil early this year (or last). with all the new development in LED technologies, this is indeed a good year for us flashaholics. lets hope 2010 will be an even better one. biggrin.gif

some new members to my greasy family...
user posted image

I'm very impress with the Krytox grease, the best among all I've used. My lights' twisting actions feels very very smooth. It's truly a wonderful product!!! notworthy.gif

The Scuba Grease with PTFE is not bad either, and the "locking" property makes me strongly believe it can really waterproof any equipment with o-rings and such, this grease should be safe to use with silicone o-rings as it does not contains any silicone nor paraffin.

rookie, you are no doubt the ultimate grease man here! tongue.gif
hahaha... Ultimate Grease Man... that sounds like a super villain from Marvel comics sweat.gif hmm.gif

QUOTE(Chieftat @ Oct 22 2009, 07:12 PM)
Hi RookieDaddy, where did you get these grease ?  whistling.gif
hello Chieftat, I bought Krytox from Tekno_Cowboy from cpfmp, this is the straight grease, not 50/50 mix. The Scuba Grease is from a diving equipment shop at 1Utama old wing, near Popular Bookstore... while the gear grease from rc shops.
I would suggest to skip the gear grease as it doesn't really perform well, I think if mix with some lube oil it will work better. doh.gif
Fyi, the same shop that sell the Scuba Grease also carry a 100% pure silicone grease (AquaSeal). smile.gif

- Turbo, well we know now don't run more than 10 mins, unless there's some sort of wind to cool the fins. It was hot to the touch, but you can still hold it.
After I found out yesterday abt my LED, I did several 1-2 minutes tests on turbo at different times. LED dies are the same still, light functions are all still okay.
hmm.gif this is weird... I've been running mine for >20 minutes on Turbo for most sessions, and been running on high 'till the light blinks (battery low). What battery are you feeding to yours?
I use 3 sets of LSD, 2 sets of Eneloop + 1 set of Recyko+.

QUOTE(pseudoblue @ Oct 26 2009, 04:24 PM)
- Tactical situations: You don't have quick access to the highest and lowest modes immediately, you need to cycle thru it. Cycling thru the mode you want can be immediate or up to 8 seconds.
- Quick battery change; You'll need to insert batteries carefully and correctly. If you're in a hurry, especially if you need to run 4AA on emergency quick, you might end up putting in the wrong parallel slot, no danger though but no light! Then end up opening the light again. It's actually quite easy but these things do happen.
yup... these are practically what I complained to Fenix a few months back, but what I received in respond is I guess some badly developed Artificial Intelligent's reply. doh.gif " 牛头不对马嘴 "
maybe the TK30 is to address some of our concerns... but still no neutral white MC-E from Fenix cry.gif

They replied in chinese characters like that? What does it mean? laugh.gif
I'm using 8x Powerex Imedions for me TK40. It was never on lithiums though (I've asked fenix about a month ago regarding lithiums and *they said it'll harm the light).
*
oh... no, no... that's how I felt reading their replies... it's a chinese proverbs, meaning:
"Horses' jaws don't match cows' heads -- incongruous.; as incongruous as the mouth of a horse on the head of an ox; irrelevant; things that don't agree" sweat.gif
Lithiums will harm the light? errr... i think that's a cya statement. tongue.gif

Good deal (well, somewhat...)
Carrefour is having a promotion of Energizer L91 and L92, yup, those Ultimate Lithium AA and AAA. A pack of 2 is going for RM 13.90, this is very close to retailer (dealer) price. Normal price is RM 16.90. Battery use-by date 03-2024. biggrin.gif

Brought it to GW2U for a sneak preview (to send my TK40 for checking as well). Met Polkiuj again, Rookiedaddy (finally), well and, danny and gwen. Will test out the brightness more later tonite biggrin.gif
The UI is quite interesting and I have to go thru it more later. It seems it has a memory function, remembers the last mode you switched off, still can cycle thru with forward clicky or bezel twist. But if you enable Tactical Lock, you'll have either one output program permanently, until you unlock it and goes back to normal operation.
...
nice meeting you too... ... and your Silver Vantage is really lovely... biggrin.gif Like the beam profile... creamy thumbup.gif

Seraph! Ask Philightsophy if can. Since it's only type II anodized should be far easier to engrave. P60 compatible, cheap and local warranty!! =D
