Hi,

I have linked my paypal with Maybank debit card, and my paypal account shows RM10 as balance but in my Maybank account got RM100. Since ive linked my debit card, will it deduct my money from Maybank account for my next purchase?

similar thing happen to some of user here....  call bank should solve it.

I just had the similar problem too. And I've found the solution. Just follow the steps below:

Step 1. You must activate your Visa Debit Maybank, this includes the Debit card itself can be withdraw money on the ATM too. If not activated (example: there were NO cash withdrawals within 3 months using the card itself), please go to the nearest Maybank to activate it. If your card is already activate, go to step 2.

Step 2. Change the 'purchase amount' of your Visa Debit Maybank. This is one of the common problem since the default of the 'purchase amount' is RM 0, thus making you unable to link your Debit card to Paypal. To change that, just go the ATM > put the Debit card in >go to "others" (or "lain-lain" in Bahasa) > change the "purchase amount" to be safe to RM 5,000 (maybank limit) > key in your IC number for verification > your done! . Also, change the withdrawal amount and OTHER TYPES OF LIMIT to RM 5,000 for easy measures.

Step 3. Make sure you account that is linked to your Visa Debit Maybank has more than RM 20. To be safer, make it RM 50.

Step 4. Activate your MSOS for international purchases through the Maybank Hotline phone (1-300-88-6688). Yes, i know that since most of the Visa Debit Maybank Card right now has already 'activated' MSOS, you will need to activate its "international purchase" to ensure that your debit card can link to Paypal. Dial the 1-300-88-6688 > press your language > press 4 > press 3 to talk to 'executive maybank operator' to talk to you > give full details about your name, IC, phone number, bank account linked to VISA debit maybank and the number card for your VISA debit maybank > ask that you need to activate the MSOS and also the international "thinggy" forever > and your done. Be warned : to call 1-300-88-6688 can be a pain in the ass, so be very very VERY patient.

Step 5. Then follow the tutorial made by IcedNyior until Step 7. At Step 7, please go Paypal to the Profile > Add/Edit Credit or Debit Card > under "action" column, click "verify paypal card" or something > click continue > and wait for verification for 3 days > follow the verification tutorial as IcedNyior. Its an update procedure right now which i just discovered today.

To be sure, they are talking about MASTERCARD Debit Card. Does your solution apply to it? I have been trying to link my debit card with my Google Wallet account, but it keeps saying the card is declined, and dunno why, there is no MSOS on my M2U page. Does anyone know why?

Hello! I am new at using Paypal, and just got my account verified. I was just wondering, before I make any payments on paypal, may I ask, is there a TAC code which they will send before they approve any payment.

Sometimes I feel rather unsafe with internet banking. When I verified the account using my debit card, it instantly deducted without an sms or any sort of confirmation. So would appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this matter.

Also, is there a way to put a limit aside from going to ATM. Is there any option for controlling transactions from Maybank2u?

Thanks

Hi, I followed IcedNyior tutorial up to step 6 when I need to check my m2u account. It supposed to state 2 transactions just like in the screenshot. My account was deducted $1.00 only but the other transaction where it supposed to deduct $1.95 with the paypal code never showed.
FYI, I only have about RM8 in the account. I purposely left just a little money in there because afraid it might get hacked or something. Maybe I'm being paranoid or watched to many movies. I figured it was enough to link paypal with my m2u.
Then, I deposit RM10 and wait another day and check but still nothing. So, what to do now? Do I wait or need to do anything in my paypal account?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm still not received the 4 digits paypal code. I removed my debit card from paypal and add it again after I had deposit RM10 in my m2u. Now, my account was charged 2 times $1.00 on the same date but still no paypal code. No $1.95 was charged.

How much do I need to have in my Maybank account to link my debit card with paypal?

I believe that some people in this forum is always asking questions about Paypal.

Here is a simple step by step on how to verify your paypal using your Maybank debit card. Previously, it was disabled but Im glad that now maybank allows us to do this.

Update 10/1/12 : Some people have confirmed that there is no need for MSOS registration anymore. So I have hidden these steps  (Step One & Step Two) in spoilers. Please proceed straight to >> STEP THREE
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Step Three
Login to www.paypal.com with your paypal email & password.

In the My Account tab, click Profile and Add/Edit Credit or Debit Card.

Key in the details of your Maybank Visa Debit Card. Make sure the address is exactly the same as your billing address.
user posted image

Step Five
You will then get a verification email to your paypal account saying that you have successfully linked your card. And now all you have to do is wait for the code.
user posted image

Step Six
Okay this is important : Wait for about ONE DAY before doing the following steps**

Login to your Maybank2u again and click on Accounts & Banking, then click on your Account number for your Account Details.

Then click on Debit Card History. You should then see an entry with the word “Paypal”. The code is the 4 numbers before the word Paypal.

Eg: PREAUTH SALE 8921PAYPAL-*EXPUSE DATED 06/08/09
Paypal Code : 8921

**
If you check your account too early, you might not see the details of the transaction and would not be able to get the code
user posted image

Step Seven
Log in to www.paypal.com and click on Profile, then Add/Edit Credit or Debit Card.

Click on Enter Paypal Code and enter the code you obtained in Step Six.
user posted image

Success!

And now you have successfully linked your Maybank Visa Debit Card to your Paypal. You will get the refund of USD1.95 to your Paypal account.

:: NOTES ::

* If you have problems linking your card, check to make sure the details of the card is all correct – especially the Address. If all else fails, call the Maybank customer service.
* I have no idea why USD 1.00 is also deducted along with the USD 1.95 when we verify the card. I didn’t have this extra charge when verifying with Al-rajhi Visa Debit Card
* I have not tried to withdraw from Paypal to my card but I’ll be happy to hear your comments if you did try. Remember that Paypal charges USD5 per withdrawal.

I hope this tutorial was helpful biggrin.gif

and also, my name is Lee Ken Kiong.

so, in add card section, my first name is Ken Kiong and last name is Lee. Is that correct?

or they need to be opposite?

coz i afraid later when do withdrawal, it will get rejected coz name not same.

also, my name in the bank is LEE LEN KIONG, so, do i need to use capital letter also?

Added on November 21, 2012, 12:47 pmand when i withdraw fund to my debit card, it actually bank in into my bank account right?
