Interestingly, somebody here reported that a friend his bought AIG for $1 or something and after reverse split, AIG immediately tanked to $10 because of massive shorting. His pal didn't know about the split thought AIG went from $1 to $10 (thinking it was ten fold increase) and immediately sold off thousands of shares resulted in massive losses. AIG now is back to equivalent pre-split price (after the short covering).
Most of the financials all have sky-rocketed. Those who bought some before the massive run up got huge gain, this includes C (Citigroup) which has gained over 60% in less than 3 weeks.
