Can we consumer at Malaysia buy stuff at Amazon US or Amazon UK ?
Cause I tried few times previously trying to purchase something, it just didn't let me because my delivery location is MALAYSIA
The Payment is okay, only the Delivery Location has trouble & don't let me buy.

Has anyone bought something from Amazon US or Amazon UK before & deliver ur stuff into Malaysia ?

I have encountered the same problem. Not all items will ship to Malaysia (e.g. the battery from Amazon I tried to buy as well as a few other used books did not ship to Malaysia).

Your only option will be to ship it to someone in America and have him ship it here. But it's usually expensive. If I'm not mistaken there are companies that offer that, as well as a few sellers here (try looking for ychwang).

Books and music sold directly from amazon will ship. Electronics, no. Things provided by other companies selling on amazon site, not usually.

how's the shipping fees charges ? i m quite confuse on the shipping details.

Let's say if i have bought a electronics product from amazon is which avaiable for international shipping from US to Malaysia.

If the Item is sold by Amazon themselves, then it can be delivered to Malaysia for sure.

However Amazon also acts as a third party for other vendors and shops. Those shops may not have international shipping. So you can't get them to send it here.

u got option for one time use, or permanent address there. they even provide phone number for the seller to call. quite expansive, if i'm not mistaken about USD80 to send me a 2kg item, which i bought for less than USD80 of course. actually, it weight less than 2 kg, which is less than what i should paid (it's like 1kg to less than 2kg, 2kg to less than 3 kg price range), but they just put 2kg on the form. if i'm not mistaken, they will repack your item and remove the original packaging if it can reduce the weight.

it's a business address, so basically somebody is stationed there 24/7 to deal with delivery, not a post box address. they send to malaysia using dhl, so traceable, can clear custom in advance, took about 4 or 5 days to arrived. but the item took about 4 to 5 days to arrive from seller to myus (can't remember using what courier, but got tracking also, took 1 day to ship from place to place, and it was shipped thru 4 or 5 cities.) same time to deliver within US and from US to malaysia.

remember, it can get stuck for weeks in KLIA if only to clear custom upon arriving, so better pick courier that have proper business in malaysia.

So far i bought books and DVD no problem.
There was once a book was missing - means they sent out the book to me but i didn't receive it.
I inform them and they immetiately re-sent another copy to me. Look like they bear the lost.

I bought a couple of Blu-Ray discs before, and my dad bought several books from Amazon. They ship these kind of items here. Electronics, no - I had my DJ Hero Renegade Edition shipped to my cousin's house over there and she brought it back on her flight back to Malaysia.

I do buy a lot of novels and even PC games (Collector Editions) from Amazon and get it ship to me @ Malaysia.

But Rule of Thumb when buying from Amazon:

Books (any books - minus magazines) : Always wait until you have enuf books to purchase and ship it to Malaysia. Do not use Amazon standard or expedited shipping. Your books will tend to disappeared during shipment into Malaysia. Always use Priority shipping which tend to be more expensive (3 or more books is cheaper than 1 book).

Magazines (avoid purchase Adult Magazines from Amazon): It is super expensive and does not cover malaysia. If needed, get the magazines online from Zinio or other sites.

Video games (PC, Xbox, Wii, PS3): Available for shipping to Malaysia. However, it isn't direct from Amazon but from one of listed stores that will be providing the games to Amazon. Shipping will not get lost as it is under US Postal Service warranty. I got my SC2 Collector Edition send from US within a week.

DvD: This one is depends to what you purchase. Some DvD will be allowed through, most aren't.

I purchase Zune HD 32gb from amazon.com arrived in a week but shipping was retardedly expensive ~.~

Depends on sellers. If direct from Amazon then can ship to Malaysia. If third party then they might not be able to ship to Malaysia.

I bought some product that cannot be sent to Malaysia from Amazon then I used the service provide by VS Hub (http://www.vshub.com/), they will give you an address in the USA so that you can ship your goods there and you can store for a month for free before shipping to Malaysia, you will need to pay for the shipping cost.

NEVER SHIP FROM BORDERLINX. Have problems with them because of my Malaysian credit card wth. They try to bully you by sucking your money out of you.

zsnipes, why don't you go to the Classifieds > Services Noticeboard section, there are quite a few number of LYN members that offer this service. Most of them cover famous USA websites like eBay, Amazon, etc.

These sellers take orders from local members, wait for the items to arrive to them (in the USA address), ship them from USA to here and then distribute the items accordingly using local Pos Malaysia.

In fact, I just ordered something from one seller there. Head to the section there, you should see a lot of these sellers for you to pick.

Tried purchase a laptop from Amazon, (3rd party seller).
They accept my order and send the laptop to me but after one month I still did not receive the laptop.
Than one and half month, i received an email from them saying that the item has been returned to them and they re-fund me.

I used to buy Blu-Ray's from Amazon. I would buy like 2-3 like that, had no problems.

Once I bought RM500 worth of Blu-Rays from Amazon, and the Malaysian customs ask me to pay tax. The tax was also more or less about RM500.

I told them to go f*** themselves and ask them to return it.

E-Mailed Amazon and they refunded my money.

I can confirm amazon does ship to worldwide, I bought some hardwares from them and they shipped to Singapore directly, only took about 1 week, but I have to bear the shipping cost as well.
I guess this also apply to Malaysia.

Not really, unfortunately. Books, CD media and a few other things yes but for almost everything else, including clothes, electronics etc. they don't ship.

It's isn't Amazon that's causing the problem , it's the seller/ disti.

You have a choice of online sellers on Amazon so check for the one that delivers to Malaysia.

Customs ALWAYS check my parcels but so far i haven't been charged.

Don't be discouraged with Amazon as it is really the best online store and their customer service from the other side of the world is fantastic...

There is a way to work out what will ship to Malaysia and whilst you may not be able to ship everything you can ship many items to Malayasia.

If you use Amazon Global and follow these steps you will see all the cameras (and dvd's, books, clothing, health, tools. watches, jewelry, shoes, electronics, handbags, toys etc etc etc ) that you can ship to whatever country you are in.

Certain products will not ship to Malaysia. In those cases, you can use a parcel forwarding service, I believe there are a couple of forumers providing those services in the Bulk Trade section

Do they have trouble with the customs here? Why can't they send something like Kindle over here. It's been quite a trouble for us to purchase goods from Amazon especially those items that are Amazon exclusive.

Its easy, this is what you can do if the item you are ordering is not ship-able to Malaysia, Learn about package forwarding, I think posmalaysia and fedex (since fedex is international courier) can handle them, or try do an online search about package forwarding, I hope this helps

I used hopshopgo/comgateway, fast and reasonably priced. Also bought some shoes off amazon recently, they charged me shipping of 40usd, arrived in 3 days.

Dear Sifus, when we buy from Amazon is it safe to choose the cheapest postage method which can take up to 1-mth. Is this considered normal mail with no 'tracking number'. Hence, risk of lost goods is higher?

Depends on which type of forwarding service you use. UPS' counterpart in Malaysia is PosLaju. Not sure about other forwarding company tho.

USPS has increased their shipping fees substantially earlier this year. The shipping fees from US to Malaysia can possibly be higher than the item(s) itself. It will be helpful to ask the seller what will be the shipping fee to Malaysia while it could be cheaper to get elsewhere or even in Malaysia itself.

How many you'll be buying in total? Is it made of plastic? Customs do impose tax on plastic related items, moreso if it is brought into Malaysia in big volume as anything plastic is deemed to be able to be produced locally. One or two pieces for personal use I think it's ok. As my earlier post highlighted that the USPS has upped its shipping rates early this year and purchase less that 600gm the shipping fes will be at least USD 20.00 flat and on 1st class international shipping without tracking no and without insurance. Therefore, it may be helpful to buy some other stuffs that made up to less than 600gm to leverage on the shipping fees.

If you're buying only 1 phone back case, you'll most probably have to pay as much for the shipping fees. Isn't it available locally? Low Yat Plaza may have something that fits your needs? I'm not a seller, so don't worry I;m not trying to do sales here, just sharing what I know ablut the shipping fees from US.
