Final Thoughts
As for general performance, we can say Core i7 > Core i5 > Core i3. According to our test, Core i5-750 delivers about 90 percent performance of Core i7-920. Besides, Core i5 brings us something exciting, such as lower power consumption, greater OC potential and etc. Targeting mid-range segment, Core i5 is more affordable. It’s available in China for RMB1599 (US$234), which is much cheaper than Core i7-920. Considering the pricing of most P55 motherboards, it’s much cheaper to build a Core i5-750 than Core i7-920 platform. With the emergence of Core i5 and the upcoming Core i3, Nehalem micro-architecture processors will become more and more popular with ordinary consumers. SOS |

QUOTE(Core_Tracer @ Aug 27 2009, 05:34 PM) after thinking about saving only 2 hundred bucks juz for slight decrease in performance, i think i rather fill up those few hundred and get a more solid i7-920, for the 2-way x16 PCI-E.ya but now i kinda miss the i7-860's OC capability. Added on August 27, 2009, 5:45 pm QUOTE(dazzle @ Aug 27 2009, 05:36 PM) I been told about this........... the i7 comes with 2 variants, i7 Lynnfield on socket 1156 and i7 Bloomfield on socket 1366.Intel what to standard all the i3,i5,i7,i9 same socket. My manual on the GA-P55-UD4p state about the i7 with socket 1156 can be use....... Sorry about the 1166.....is 1156. This post has been edited by don^don: Aug 27 2009, 05:45 PM |

OIC.............I'm stuck at 1.83 Ghz core2 for 2 years........
And never update myself for the latest product. you mean i7 got 2 socket...... i7 = socket 1366, i7 = socket 1156. How about for the future expansion? This post has been edited by dazzle: Aug 27 2009, 05:51 PM |
