u shud get it!.. For their treats lorh.. Very MURAH one, at Petshop must have. oni RM1 for 1cup but
it can last a week for 2 hams.. Give em oni about 4 mealworms per day.
No need to store it in fridge larh .. If not, ur SAYUR & others item will smell YAIKS rclxub.gif
Just in a big square tank okay edi.. or just make sure they cant climb out from the things,
then shud be no problem. But must an open place..
*
Means I just need to keep it in a small container right?
What if I put in KFC mashed potato container? Need poke a few holes right?

Woa! Dat means I gotta raise the mealworm?
Haha. Kk, I think I get it, might consider getting a small fish tank for it la. See how 1st, will use small container 1st to trial and error. Hehe.

But mealworm is the one still in the larvae form or the beetle form?
Puzzled by this

Gut load ur mealies b4 feeding.
Remember wipe the vege/fruits b4 u put in, mealies will die when contact with water.

For dwarfs, i think 2 mealies is very enuf already... and feed alternate days...

Put the mealies on bigger container would be better...
*
I thought they need some water, the site I linked to said they will drown, so what he did was soak some tissue and put in there.
I wonder is it 'geli', if it is, sure my GF kill me, cause whatever we are doing, it will be in the room, don't want to put outside, later housemate talk alot. So if geli/smelly =me dead

QUOTE(eric138 @ Aug 24 2009, 02:10 PM)
larvae --> pulpa --> beetle..

Pulpa has the highest protein and lowest phosphorus..

U can use those normal rectangle size tupperware la...
*
So when I buy, what I get? Can directly buy pulpa? Or they give you larvae then you must raise into pulpa?
Hehe, sorry ah, really don't know these things sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

You don hv to provide water like tat, they can get moisture from the vege/fruits u serve. biggrin.gif

Geli? it depends. last time i use twizzer to pick..now i immune d.. sometime i will talk to them also..hahahah...

Smell? Erm.. not really..u hav to pick out those dead one to prevent all others die.. My mealies are very clean, i clean their bedding regularly.. They all fat fat white white..

You don buy pulpa from shop..usually all in larvae...esp those aquarium shop who never gutload their mealies.. all so skinny and dirty... That's y i rather travel far bit and get from petshack.. healthier becoz they gutload the mealies.

Haha..walk in usually will hav disc la...
*
1. I don't need to give water as they can get it from veg and fruit
2. As long as it is clean/no dead mealies then it won't smell (bedding is the oat thingy you mentioned earlier right?).
3. So if I want pulpa I have no choice but to raise it.
4. If I lazy I can just buy from Petshack since they gutload the mealies d?
5. If I follow you maybe more more more discount le?

Hello again.

Can Alfafa hay be used for bedding. It says can on the packaging but read somewhere (can't remember) that it's not very good for bedding. Have anyone use it as bedding before?

I wanted to post up a picture of my hamster but don't know how. Hehe.
*
Alfafa Hay, I think soon someone will tell you about it.

As for posting a picture, its pretty simple, if you have it with you, then you can just upload it here, slightly below the row of smiley when you click ADD REPLY.
Its at attachments.
Contrary, if you uploaded to somewhere else, you can also insert it by copying the URL, and then click on the 'IMG' button above, its next to 'http://'

Hope that helps.

Do post pic, as we like em, and please feel free to join in the gathering

[quote=mrytl3,Aug 26 2009, 11:13 PM]NoiZy,

Thank you. Found it already but suddenly internet weng cannot upload pictures. Will try to upload tomorrow.  smile.gif

HyourinMaru & eric138,

Yes, I used chipsi citrus. But thought of changing it to a different bedding. So I went to the nearest pet shop and they only got chipsi and alfafa hay. But I put little bit of hay only, mix it with the chipsi bedding. I'm going to KL tomorrow. Do you know any petshops that sell bedding which is not like chipsi?

And I use Vitakraft now for his meal. Previously I bought habitrails but he didn't eat much. End up throw it away most of the time.

Thanks guys!  smile.gif
