if asw2020 distribution is 6.5% ...most probably AS1M will be slightly higher
*
Well, i expect it to be maybe about 0.2-0.3% higher than the ASW2020 dividend.. Hopefully it come true..

AS1M allocation:
50% Malay, 30% Chinese, 15% Indian and 5% Others

Wow a fund that has racial quota written on it and PNB calls that 'One Malaysia'  shakehead.gif . I would like to subscribe to a fund that is truly 100% malaysian without asking me my race but my nationality.
*
Yape, though saying 'One Malaysia', we non-bumiputera still not easily insert funds in la.. Not so fortunate..

They should change their mission to help the low income earners only. No racial/bumi discrimination. But then u gona hammer me for whatever I say.
Yea discrimination is everywhere. But in Malaysia, it's sanctioned by law sad.gif .
anyway you are right those who got discriminated gotta grow smarter and stronger.

Agree with both of you.. Cheers.. smile.gif

Do you think that ASNB will be going to launch another batch of Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 soon?

I really hoped to have the opportunity to open the account, even with the minimum amount of RM100, it will be worth, as long as i can try to bank in if I have the passbook..

anyone knw hw much is the dividend for as1m  for year 2011?

6.5%...

Added on October 12, 2011, 6:40 pmNext year PNB will launch Skim Amanah Rakyat 1Malaysia but only household below RM3,000 can apply..

This means no chance for indiviuals who are although earning below this range to apply for it.. doh.gif

Only can wait for 'miracle' (launching of new additional funds) to happen...

Probably base on IRB records, those without records or not in the taxable bracket but with illicit source of income, corrupt money or tax avoidence would also qualified. And also those politically well connected. Welcome to the Bolehland
*
I agree with you..

Even EPF statement with payslip is enough to become supporting document for those households to apply..

But the criteria is quite impossible for most of us.. 1 household to have below RM3,000, is not achievable target..

does anybody remember for how long ASB closes in december/january?, ie no withdrawal/deposits allowed while they do the dividend calculations.
thanks
*
Normally, it will close or suspend for dividend calculation starting from the middle of the month until the end of the month of December if the dividend is to be declared in the month of December..

I really hoped to open an account for ASW2020, even for a minimum of RM100 also hard..

I heard that next year, PNB might not open or launched additional units for the fixed unit trusts products..

If its true, its really a big disappointment, especially i have the accounts for ASM and AS1M, but left with this account only..

Really hoping there is another way, because as long as i have the passbook, it will be easier for me to try bank-in next time.. Without the passbook, nothing much can be done.. blush.gif

the most important things is not the number of account u have, it's amount of money u hv in the account. Unless your hobby is to collect the asnb passbook. It's doesn't serve purpose of the diversification also, because it is run by the same company and investing in the similar portfolio, such as sime Darby, Maybank, Sp Setia, and etc.
*
Well, my aim is to get dividend for 3 times a year.. Rather than getting 2 times now.. Easy for me to try to bank in into the account with 3 passbooks..

Every year they announced something like that, but the next year you see, they will also say the same thing..

Every year retain earnings, they retained more and more, but distribute just a little..

Davinz18 & MGM, I know what u meant. The example I quoted is also long term, I used 10 years investment period horizon. I just help the readers here to look at different side of the coins.

Every year they annouced they will distribute part of the profit the rest will carried forward to the following years, every year they hv the same script in the annoucement. There is no incident whereby they mentioned " we make lost this year, profit is distributed from the profit brought over", meaning they hv surplus almost everyyear.
And where are the surpluses gone over the years and Since it's inception?

my family has been invested in pnb funds for more than 20 years before ASN and ASB were split.
*
I also agree that every year they are announcing retained dividends.. I am wondering too where goes those total surplus..

QUOTE(Julie28 @ Nov 28 2011, 09:20 AM)
I invested some of my money in ASB. Just to have a peace of mind that a portion of my money is making profit each year, though not much.

I invested some in unit trust too. Hoping that another portion of my money is making larger profit compared to ASB. But unalike investing in ASB, there's always some worries that I'm not going to make much profit for certain year. Since service charge already 5.5%. If I invest at 'wrong time', I'll take longer to make larger profit too.

ASB never force you to invest with them. It's your choice what to do with your money. They have stated clearly what to expect when you invest with them. No institution & nobody is going to promise you a 10% profit guaranteed each year for your investment with no lost. There is no easy money....
*
Well, i do agree that peace of mind are also important as well..

In my previous investment, investing in equity funds, i am worried sick..

It is holding me back and i keep think about the risks that i have to take..

Then, since as a chinese investor in ASNB fixed price funds, i could only keep trying to bank in my monies (since the quota for chinese is limited), but at least i dont feel worry so much..

how to invest in this scheme? any guidance here?
*

Go to www.sara1malaysia.com.my; or go Google Search, type Skim Amanah Rakyat 1Malaysia..

Then choose the one with the website similar, it will provide proper guideline..

For me, its not as easy as applying for the RM500 bantuan; your bank statements need to be signed witness by employer/Penghulu or the members of the Parliament..

Thereby, i believe EPF will be capital protected due to the direct protection from the gov, i am guessing, right?

I saw one book stating about the laws of EPF in the library..
