QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Mar 9 2011, 09:56 AM) asn2 also for bumi.Asn3 open for all. For bumi, asn is better than asn2. The annual reports are downloadable @ asnb website Why is it better? i see the dividends as being roughly the same with the same 5% sale tax. Also for a non bumi, which fund is the best to invest in? Are there any issues with using EPF to invest?

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Mar 20 2011, 11:52 PM) didn't u know asd is only for bumi? Yes thats why i find it hard to believe that its fully subscribed. How is that ASD is fully subscribed while ASB isnt since ASB gives better returns?

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Mar 21 2011, 08:14 AM) asb has unlimited fund size with ind limit capped at 200k Asd fund size is only rm4.5bil and it was launched in 2001, took 10 years to fully subscribed. It has no ind limit so the rich bumi can dump in any big amount. Is it true that to invest in ASD you have to first max out your ASB?

QUOTE(hyzam1212 @ Apr 19 2011, 09:16 AM) Previously I thought 200k. But last time I check we can keep up to 250k. Maybe it is related to amount of free units inside asb at that particular time. Correct me if i'm wrong. But I also heard that you can put up a letter to increase your savings to pnb to allow for up to 400k, but you need to justify it with your income la Can you tell me where did you check and how long ago was this? I have already maxed out my ASB since 2009 so am looking to dump in more money but cant. So do tell me how.

QUOTE(hyzam1212 @ Apr 20 2011, 09:00 AM) I checked them early this year in January after I maxed it to 200k at maybank and then the staff told me that my maximum is 250k. I put a few thousand for the past 3 months. And for the extra maxing method to 400k, i'm not really sure how exactly and all I know is we need to justify personally at their office but my advise its better you call directly to pnb to know their current ruling. In my opinion its more like, a lot of units have been cashed out since everybody got their dividend at the end of last year. Correct me if I'm wrong How did you max out? Did you bank in 200K cash or is this 200K that you mention inclusive of the dividends you have obtained over the years? My current balance in ASB is approx RM 265K including dividends.

QUOTE(hyzam1212 @ Apr 20 2011, 09:21 AM) Hmm...I just top it up to 200k since I have the savings since my teenage days. So if that's the case, I can only topup excluding my dividend la. Is this the correct rule? I'm a bit confused in terms of maxing since it is the first time I'm facing it but just to share my experience. I have no intention to top more than 200k initially to be honest The rule is you can dump in 200K cash. The rest will come from dividends. For example, if you have dumped in 150K cash and over the years you have accumulated another 50K in dividends, your balance will be 200K in the account. But your account is still not maxed out since your original investment is only 150K. You can still dump in another 50K taking your overall account balance to 250K. Either way the amount you dump in cannot exceed 200K. But your dividends can accumulate over time and there is no limit for that. Dont get confused. Is this your case as well? QUOTE(natzakaria @ Dec 20 2011, 10:09 AM) Slightly better than last year - good enough I guess I think its crap considering that they made a profit of RM 7 bil from investments. Most of the money probably channeled to Bn to prepare for coming election. It should have been min 9.5% (including bonus) if they really wanted to make the Malays happy.
