Good center normally start at min RM 1.5k and above. There is a value buy in Aurum Cantus center speaker for less than RM 1.5k including shipping to Malaysia. It is using ribbon tweeter.

QUOTE(azbro @ Aug 5 2009, 09:26 PM) I remembered the good old days when there was only 2 speakers, and with the proper setup, the staging felt very right with drums, guitars, bass, backup singers and lead singer easily identified of their position... Any reason why we can't have that now? I always listen to music in stereo/pure audio.

Actually most receiver can play at 4ohm. Denon and Yamaha had no problem. Even Onkyo also no problem. 4ohm is fine as long as it don't dip to low 2 Ohm.

QUOTE(ckf8829 @ Aug 5 2009, 11:06 PM) I did test b4 buy but due to my budget ~2 to 3k for both AVR & speakers , the shop recommend 2 choices - 1. Denon DHT390 & 2. Boston + Denon 1509..after testing, the 2nd set obviously having better performance....but when i go back home & found out the sound is not so clear especially compare to my bro set (Wharfedale speakers + Pioneer AVR & more expensive)... ...But the set is actually good for movie but not in audio music & dialogue..so thinking to improve to make it "all rounded" for both music & movie.... ..now feeling a thorn inside my heart as not perfect yet... i bought this in Mediaplex in Midvalley... i dont think they allow me to change as already open box.. It's hard to expect a speaker set at that price to be perfect. If you compared to your bro's more expensive set then not a fair comparison. You get what you pay for. Anyway, do try going back to Mediaplex and ask. No harm in at least asking if you can upgrade. They might do trade in.

for music...better stick to stereo...so u dont need a centre for that...unless u listen to SADC or smthing...but to me, the core music must come from stereo, i.e. the left and right
so check the stereo staging first....
centre is generally meant for dialogue in a 5.1 set-up
