Hi,

Recently bought a set of 5.1 speaker (Boston) & found out the sound is not clear. If i replace the center speaker with Klipsch RC52 or etc, will it help to make the sound clearer (especially during playing song )?

Hope all the expert will help.

Many Thanks notworthy.gif

Centre more for vocal ... If refer to music/instrument, then front L/R are crucial.

Didn't own any Klipsh, paiseh. But I heard is great for HT setup.

Common misperception....center speaker is more that just for vocal. It's 60% of the movie biggrin.gif

I assume you mean those DVD or BD audio rite? Cos if normal Audio CD, the sound only comes from the Front LR speakers...

If for movies, changing to a better center e.g. RC52 or FCC1 sure will improve the clarity in dialogue

I remembered the good old days when there was only 2 speakers, and with the proper setup, the staging felt very right with drums, guitars, bass, backup singers and lead singer easily identified of their position...

Did you go for audition to test 1st before purchase the goods? Center speaker for vocal upon 5.1 channel set up.There are many ranges depends yr budget to spend. Some SQ are mellow and some high clarity and some more depth.
Also depends with yr liking taste.Hope this will help you.
Likewise with me which i tested alots brands for center speaker and my budget with below rm800 but endup i got NHT for rm1.8k biggrin.gif

Well, you dont really need center speaker for music stuff. Its only useful for movies with positional effect like DTS or DD.

The reason being, music is stereo and even with Dolby Prologic and similar sound processing algorithm, what they did is mix both left and right and play it out probably with some effect which done more harm than good in whichever way. Besides, since center speaker focus primarily on vocals, they aint really that good sounding compared to say, your front speakers.

Hate to say this since it has already been said, but .. you should have auditioned the speakers first leh... nod.gif

You said 'sound' not clear but what you mean by 'sound'. If you mean dialogue, yes, can think of changing centre. If music/soundtrack, then have to change Fronts.

If its just three days old, why not ask for a change? Expecially if its from those Audio Shops, can nego wan.

BTW, did you buy it fr Lowyat?

I did test b4 buy but due to my budget ~2 to 3k for both AVR & speakers , the shop recommend 2 choices - 1. Denon DHT390 & 2. Boston + Denon 1509..after testing, the 2nd set obviously having better performance....but when i go back home & found out the sound is not so clear especially compare to my bro set (Wharfedale speakers + Pioneer AVR & more expensive)... sweat.gif ...But the set is actually good for movie but not in audio music & dialogue..so thinking to improve to make it "all rounded" for both music & movie.... smile.gif ..now feeling a thorn inside my heart as not perfect yet... blush.gif

i bought this in Mediaplex in Midvalley... i dont think they allow me to change as already open box.. sad.gif
