I did test b4 buy but due to my budget ~2 to 3k for both AVR & speakers , the shop recommend 2 choices - 1. Denon DHT390 & 2. It's hard to expect a speaker set at that price to be perfect. If you compared to your bro's more expensive set then not a fair comparison. Anyway, do try going back to Mediaplex and ask. No harm in at least asking if you can upgrade. They might do trade in.
