Milito travel to Kiev, congrat Gabi after one year work hard on physio and light training, so we have five center back now, i like Milito more than Chyggy and Rafa, we will disqualified if lost more than two goal and Inter or Rubin win, lost by one goal margin already enough for us but we need win to avoid strong team in Last 16 stage
*
He has been out for 20 months now. So when Marquez showed such erratic performance after he recovered from his injury, we can't expect better things from Milito in such early stage. Surely, the focus now is just to help him back to his footballing shape. So it may take a lot of time.

I am wondering what is Pep's plans for Toure. When was the last time he is in the starting line-up? IIRC, Busquets had started 3 previous matches, while Toure was left on the bench each time.

That's what I hate to hear. Toure can be unsettled because of those rumors. Moreover his playing minutes seems very limited. Masch is a good player, probably among the best DM, but I won't trade him with Toure anytime. Toure's versatility has been proven very crucial for us. I highly doubt Masch can play a role as Barca's CB in case of emergency.

Derbi always a hard task, last season we lost 2-1 at NouCamp to Espanyol
we also need to play ten game in 30 day + travel to Asia so we cant expect we play like normal, some player lost match fitness and tired thank to tough schedule, win in league + qualify to last UCL 16 already enough for me, it bonus if we can get another trophy next weekend
*
And considering our players always get tackled heavily, especially against continental opponents, I think Barca's position is good enough.

I am really concerned about the fluidity of our game. IMO, Barca this season are not moving the ball fast enough as last season. There are some games in which we exhibit such brilliant gameplay, such as against Inter at home and away at Depor. But in most games when we played badly, it was mainly because we couldn't bring the ball forward fast enough. IIRC, we rarely play counter attack this season. NEVER. Anybody care to remind me when did we last played a counterattack? That is really a cause of concern for Pep.

And I heard that Atlante, our opponent in CWC semis, is a very physical and defensive minded team. They might as well launch similar game like Rubin did.

I am agree with myhotgary, that our penalty look a bit soft. The referee is currently under heavy criticism too.

But what he actually saw was this:

Maybe this time the referee is criticized for being too attentive laugh.gif laugh.gif

LOL. Cruyff is really stubborn. Everybody know that in December England is having its own football party. Surely AW won't let Cesc go. And yet he insists in calling Cesc up. I am pretty sure that Cesc won't turn up for Catalonia though sad.gif sad.gif

Here is the team list:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalonia_nat...m#Current_squad

Seriously, Catalonia have a midfield line up that can match any national team. drool.gif drool.gif The back line is also is looking secure enough. Its the forward line however that the talent is really lacking.

LOL. Barca never had bad situation in the match, even though we fell behind very early. But the players played the only way they know, and they showed really good match.

Thanks to Messi, Pedro, and Busquets for the goals. FIFA should acknowledge La Masia as the best 'quarry' in the world biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Iniesta's assist for Pedro was perfect too.

Yeah, Jeffren really surprised everyone. He tormented their RB constantly with his speed. Our youth products performed very good for us in these 2 matches. Very well done.

Very happy for our 6th title of the year. Its been an unbelievable year.

Thanks to Pep. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Are you touched? I'm touched. blush.gif blush.gif Can't imagine being in his shoes. 1 1/2 year ago everybody doubted his credibility to succeed as a coach, especially after losing his first match. But now, he won everything. Moreover, he brought his talented players from B team to the first team as well. And 1 of them has even debuted for Spain.

Can't ask for more for sure.

The word Agensi at the end of the article means that they translate it from other source, am I right? If that's the case, it means BHarian people didn't even watch the match.

what a rubbish, FCB board really stupid and can kill their self if they let Pep go this summer
*
Yeah they are stupid to let him go.

But actually it is Pep who is stalling the contract renewal negotiation. The current board are reportedly very anxious about current situation.

I doubt changing club is in Pep's mind. But he doesn't sure to continue here either. For now, just enjoy his philosophy and ideas smile.gif His blood is 100% Catalan, 100% Cule. So there is nothing to worry about.

About the rumor, biasa lah, source pon datang dari mana. Don't take it too seriously smile.gif

Yeah. This line for instance:

QUOTE
The Daily Mail opines that Guardiola could leave Barcelona as early as April to begin an apprenticeship under Sir Alex Ferguson, with a view to eventually replacing the trophy-magnet Scotsman at Old Trafford.

Based on which fact did The Daily Mail make that statement from? Pep is going to breach his contract just to learn from SAF?

I am not keen enough to check out their website. But if they really published that line, well it completes the picture further, about them being a biased media, ignorant with some sort of 'EPL is the best thing ever happen on the planet' set of mentality.

I prefer Marquez play as DM, where at least we can utilize his passes more efficiently. He was a nightmare as a CB this season.

Guys, for those who have supported Barca since Van Gaal days or before, and would like to reflect the 'good' old, pre-Laporta days, you might want to check this thread out tongue.gif tongue.gif

nice one laugh.gif
agree with him on Riquelme, i tot Riquelme dead trough pass good for Barca but he really slow, keep delay the ball and make the attack become slow doh.gif
*
Yeap you are right. But I do think Barca at the time also had huge potential to be successful as the team we have today. Players like Cocu, Bronckhorst, Saviola and Kluivert were really top class talents. Not to mention Riquelme's playmaking ability, and it is wise to build a team around him. We had Puyol and Xavi coming up from La Masia too. Plus the strong financial strength we had at the time. It was difficult for us to do wrong at the time.

But we did actually. IMHO, it was all because of the idiot Gaspart sad.gif

QUOTE(sepulse @ Jan 2 2010, 03:53 PM)
maybe iniesta playing tonight. yeah!
*
Good news indeed. Villareal have always been our toughest rival. So we need as many fit players as possible.

I heard that Barca will organize a celebration and bring all 6 trophies onto the pitch before the game. And ex players like Eto'o, Caceres and Sylvinho are all invited to come. Caceres and Sylvinho couldn't make it iinm. Am wondering, will Eto'o come? hmm.gif hmm.gif

Pep may still be interested. But surely he won't sign anybody during January. Not sure if we will try in the summer either. For now, the focus in Barca camp is all about the upcoming election, renewal of Pep's contract, and the 6 trophies. So far the only name that is being touted as a marquee signing for every election candidates is Cesc nod.gif nod.gif Once the election is over, then I believe Barca will decide to renew their interest in Masch or not.

The players were emotionally very like Alves. It is very rare to see Xavi fail to compose himself, but yesterday he did. Its all started with some controversial decisions by the referee against us, when he blew up the whistle for even the slightest touches. Heck, he even blew a foul for Ibra when he challenged a defender with his hands up in the air. Obviously no pushing there.

But silverwavec, to criticize Pep for playing Pique on the base that he didn't play well against Villareal last time around, or he can't play against fast counterattacking team, that is not right IMO. First, we all could agree the first 11 was the best we could throw in for a big match like this. Second, everybody play counterattack against us. Puyol-Pique partnership always stood strong. Much better than Puyol-Marquez. Milito has been out for more than 1 year. While Chyggy couldn't integrate well yet.

Despite playing bad, we had more chances than Villareal. Henry indeed looked lively. Javi Venta's 'speed' really gave Henry upper hand in several occasions. The effort that Pedro pounced onto was marvelous too. But he squandered 2-3 header chances as well.

Ibra will be suspended for the next game as well after receiving the booking doh.gif Pep hates that obviously, as he already issued a warning to him.

Rumors are circulating, stating that we are interested with Veloso and Afellay. I think Veloso will be cup tied for UCL for now. Not sure about Afellay.

Meanwhile, Bernard Lacombe, advisor of Lyon's president revealed that they are interested in Vieira, only to find out that Barca have already tabled an offer for him. But Vieira's concern is to play as much minutes as possible before WC, something that he might not get at Barca once Keita and Toure come back.

Totalbarca.com has published a marvelous piece about Pep Guardiola, being a good human. Here is the link. My favourite:

QUOTE
1. In May of 2008, when Guardiola had not even been officially signed as the coach of the first team, he found time to visit Gabi Milito in the hospital after his knee surgery. Pep was busy not only with the end of the season with the reserve team, but also with his new daughter, who had just been born. Yet, he surprised the defender with a long visit of more than three hours. The coach also stated at the beginning of this season that he “would rather see Gabi playing than win a title.”

QUOTE(Aeroberg @ Jan 5 2010, 04:24 PM)
Ibra is lucky not to be sent off for that ridiculous flying two-footed jump on one of the Villareal player. You take some, you get some. The ref may have been too fussy but on occasions but on that one, Ibra was very lucky not to see red whistling.gif
*
Yeah you are right he was lucky. That is why Pep was reportedly furious with Ibra. Well, he was infamous for his temperament anyway.

But come to think of it, when a player is called foul on every contact with opponent players, who doesn't get frustrated? He might as well be a netball professional player if he couldn't touch the opponent at all. Not defending Ibra's action. Pep already warned him. So hopefully Ibra will improve on that soon.
